Many of us are at a place in our lives where we no longer have our parents with us. We owe so much to them & realize how much of them is with us & how they have come to be such a part of us....I find even more as the years go on. (My Dad 1983, my Mom 2002).
In my rambling sort of way, what I am saying is that this is a pretty good read. Midlife Orphan by Jane Brooks.

X Sorry, but I did not post with the original posting
Trump is such an arrogant bully with no scruples or morals.
I certainly hope that he gets his a** kicked in the presidential election. A man like him does not deserve to be elected as the leader of the most powerful nation on this planet.
I can only hope that the voting masses see through his facade.
Money cannot always buy you everything!!

Clovers journey with us has come to an end. Darlene and Glenn kissed Clover for the last time on Saturday.
Clover was a stray at Timmins HS and due to her diagnosis; they contacted the Haven to check if I had room. She was thin and frail and an examination revealed she was blind, a diabetic, bladder infection and a tooth in need of yanking. We accepted her but the next challenge was getting her to Kingston. As frail as she was, it would take close to 10 hours to drive from Timmins. This is where a wonderful registered non-profit charity called Pilots N Paws Canada came into our lives. Pilots that volunteer to fly animals in need. They were contacted and a pilot was ready to fly on Wednesday October 9, 2013. When this pilot reached Timmins, he had a problem with his plane and always thinking of his precious cargo, the trip was cancelled. Another pilot stepped up and Clover made her way to Kingston on Thursday October 10. Bill and I were there to greet the plane along with friends Faye, Charlan, Lorraine and a newspaper reporter. It was a very exciting experience for all of us. Clover managed the flight very well.
Clover settled into life at the Haven and our vets got her diabetes under control. A volunteer, Leanne came over every Sunday to brush Clover. Her hair started to grow in thick and long. Leanne tried to keep up with it. One day I received an e-mail from a man who I have since termed 'Clover's Knight in Shining Armor". Glenn wanted to take Clover to an Ophthalmologist to see if she can get back her vision. It turned out she could and the surgery took place. She responded well to the surgery and eventually Clover went to live with Glenn and Darlene for the aftercare. I will always be so grateful to them for taking this on as it consisted of eye drops every 4 hours with multiple drops. These drops had to be given 15 minutes from each other. With all the work for the other residents, this took a toll on us. Clover charmed Glenn and Darlene from day one. How could this precious soul not!
It was a journey for all of us. So many people involved in her life.
Our hearts go out to Darlene and Glenn, where her journey ended with so much love.
