Just back from the cottage...mosquitos are real bad..(better than the midgies in Scotland)...but sitting dockside with a breeze brought a bit of relief....
Looking forward to our summer picnic - would be so much fun to meet you all...

My 22 year old son is a drummer. He had been playing in an alternative screamo type of band, not my type of music but I did encourage him, after all my parents did not understand Led Zeplin. He had been asked to fill in in a country blues type band while their drummer was on holidays and impressed them so much that old drummer has become Pete Best.
On Monday June 13th Pete Van Dyk and the 2nd Hand Band are playing at the Horseshoe Tavern. Wow, my son playing on the same stage that the Rolling Stones among others have played on.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

Well, the picnic turned into drinks & snacks on a patio (worked for me!). It was great seeing Maggie again & so nice to finally meet crazyredneck (still laughing, cause he would never have recognized me if I didn`t have my feline escort ). Lily dog was a bit jealous that Quincy got to go out & about, she sniffed the poor guy from nose to tail, then whined at me. Oh well, at least she's having fun watching the lightning storm we're having now (yesx, she's as weird as I am ). I think both Quincy & I got a bit too much fresh air though, we both took a little catnap that lasted for several hours. Eek.

There will definitely be another get together soon. We got very lucky with the weather (hazy but no rain!), here's hoping next time the sun makes an appearance.

sounds like the 3 of you had a great time today. spent the day doing laundry, getting the grass cut, weed wacking & planting flowers, tomatoes, & red peppers. managed to get it all done before the heavens opened up & dumped more rain on us.
