Hi everyone, just back from our extra long Canada's-and-my b/day weekend....wow, what a fabulous weekend to be out of the city....apparently there was some rain down here?....nada in Muskoka....hot, sticky, and the dachsie spent HOURS hunting down those annoying chipmunks and squirrels....the big dog, however, was waaaaay too hot with that black double fur coat, so she left the hunting to her mini sister.....
....we went out to dinner in Huntsville, at a place called Spencer's Tall Trees.....wow, fabulous food, and they had the absolute best bruschetta I have ever eaten.....and the steak/crab combo was none too shabby either!!!
....so the laundry is going, I am caught up on some e-mails and enjoying the A/C again.....gawd, I just don't do heat well.....still, better than winter, and it's all too fleeting a summer....
.....hope everyone had the best weekend, and I saw AndiT won something?....hey girl, what didya win, huh?..huh?!?!?.....inquiring minds want to know!!!...TR

Hello everyone!

So sorry that I've been AWOL recently.

My cousin has been doing a phenomenal job on the deck!

The party went well, except for the thunderstorm that ripped through Saturday night, causing a little delay in the bonfire lighting!

Hope the building of bonfire pics aren't too large!

Took today off, back to work tomorrow.

I am just quickly popping in and have a question. Does anyone have suggestions for giving a dog (yes Austin) two huge pills twice a day. I first start with hiding it in a peanut butter sandwich. (no) Then I tried to butter it. (no) He is so onto me. So then I just hold his nose and put it in his throat. The little skunk figured out how to hold it and work it back up. OMG! Too funny but not too funny either. He needs his medicine to get better quickly. So if you have any suggestions I am willing to try it. I was thinking tomorrow morning he will get a hot dog. But he will be gaining some unnessary weight if I do that for 10 Days.

I used to use a cheese slice. I would give a few small pieces without the pill then wrap the pill up in the "middle" piece, then another piece without the pill... worked good for me.... you may need 2 slices if the pills are that big....

I didn't want to make it too easy, like Napoleon or Attila the Hun, so I went with David Peterson. The problem was that it asked "Is your character associated with sports?" before establishing that he was a politician, so it went through sport after sport. Eventually it guessed several Canadian premiers but not Peterson.

Funny it asked me several times if my person was alive or dead.
I had answered it early on... My person was dead at the beginning and still
dead at question 29.

Had a little disheartening encounter yesterday when I found an abandoned kitten with eyes still closed. It was under a piece of plywood in a wood pile.

I called Animal Services and they came within the hour but weren't too confident the little girl would make it.

She was a real cutie and our cat almost wanted to adopt it.

Hoping she makes it!!!

Daisy takes a good sized pill every day, I use cheese whiz.
But she would take it with peanut butter too.
