Yes madchives I posted the details on here last week. The H.S. was waving the fee to adopt a kitty three years and over to help get some of those poor furry beings out of there. It was for this past weekend. The rest of the month you get a free kitty toy if you adopt one.

Well gotta head out to a curling game and then downtown to have something to eat and watch Hugo 3D with the movie tickets I won last week.

Can't seem to get warm this morning. Our snow loving friends here are wonderful, adorable people...but they are doing snow dance & causing the arrival of chilly weather.

a bright sunny, but cold day. looks great as long as you stay inside where it's warm. attitash, you're finally in pants, but are you wearing a jacket yet or still a t-shirt?
well is was an exciting weekend for sports, what a season finale for nascar, right up till the very end you didn't know if tony or carl was going to win. it was back & forth all race long. tony stewart won in the end with the tie breaker of winning more races than carl. now the season is over till feb 26/12
guess we'll just have to concentrate on football till then.

Helen was doing very Well today and our Dinner was Great!!!!
Lots of Conversation, Fun, Laughter and... the All Important... Friendship.
We have been back since about 8:30pm, and I am still Smiling.

Ouch.

Unfortunately, didn't get to see much of the game. I saw about 5 plays when my phone rang. It was my Mom and she needed help. Set a land speed record getting over there. (I REALLY like the 407!) She is and was fine, just a bit shaken up. So, after spending some time and determining all was well, I asked if she wanted to watch the game.
"Oh, has it started already?"
"Actually, there's only about 2 minutes left".
"But I thought it was on at 4."
"No Mom, that's the western final".
She was appalled that she got the time wrong and then proceeded to apologize to me for making me miss the game!! I laughed and told her she was being silly - but, next year, when the Argos were playing, she'd best come over to my house so I could watch the conference final without any major interruption. She laughed too.

Can you imagine someone apologizing for pulling you away from a televised sporting event? It's not like I had tickets or anything.

OK - time to unwind. Think I'll just veg on the couch until I get sleepy. Which will either be in 4 minutes or 4 hours. My body is voting for the 4 minutes; I just have to find a way to dial down the mind a bit .......

good to hear all is well with your mom. she knows how much you like your sports, so was probably feeling a little guilty about calling you over.

Good Monday Morning (a snafu if I've ever heard one) however this one was great! I won our family football pool.. the weekly win is 125 however it hadn't been one in 5 weeks.. 625 is sweet chunk of change going into the Christmas season..

Good morning all…Hope you all have a Magnificent Monday!!!

Here are a few funnies and some mushy…

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?' He smiled as he patted my hand and said, 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.' I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.' We are all getting older tomorrow may be our turn.
True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

have inner peace we should always finish things we start. We all can
achieve more calm in our lives. I looked around my house to find things I'd
