I am back on line.....
Persistence works....

Initially I was told we were connected to the wrong port
I said this was just noticed after almost 7 years?
It would be fixed in the am.
It wasn't that....
It was out modem that was close to 7 years old.....
and they were going to ship me a new one that
they said would arrive Thursday.
That was not good.
My boss called this am and then was emailing me on my Blackberry.
Thank goodness He is not on my BlackBerry messenger.
Thursday was not acceptable. I called back and told them I
need internet access or I do not get paid...
The woman I spoke with gave me a credit for my internet charges
for the month and said a technician would be here between 9 and 12 tomorrow am.
I thanked her and asked for her manager...
He was very decent and I asked if I could get it today. He told me
there is no way as appointment are booked in advance. I mentioned that
they must have an extra appointment in case of an emergency....
He said he didn't think so, but would check for me.
He told me he had never seen anyone get same day service...
I told him his major competition was willing to come here this afternoon
and set me up with their internet services......
He told me he would do what he could... and not to get my hopes up.
At least they would be here tomorrow am.

He came back on the phone and said he was able to get a technician
to come by between 5-9 pm. I thanked him very much...

Not 10 minutes later my door bell rang.... and the tech guy was here.
He updated a few things gave us a new modem and the rest is history...

I will write a thank you note as this was incredible service.

I am sitting here in my office still with internet access
Have been playing mahjong and answering my bosses calls.
Have been at my desk since before 9. I think he wants to make sure I am here.
I am unable to do my work as it is in my work system.

My ISP will have to go out of their way to compensate
