    Just returned from another Tour Du Flo-rid-a.
    For the uninitiated the Tour Du Flo-rid-a is exactly the
    same as the Tour Du France with a few slight modifications.
    First we substitute motorcycles for bicycles and Florida for France.
    Also, there is absolutely nothing yellow involved at any time.

    So this time there are six riders.
    We agree to meet at a certain location.
    Inconvenient to all.
    At a certain time.
    Hated by all.
    There is always 'that guy'.
    The guy who screws up and is late.
    Everyone must wait for 'that guy'
    and he is razzed all day for whatever reason made him late.
    So as not to be 'that guy' I set my alarm for 6:30.
    Plenty of time to get there for 7:30.
    Unfortunately, I set it for 6:30p.m. instead of a.m.
    So all day I was ....' that guy'.

    This trip we did one lap of lake Okeechobee with lunch
    on beautiful Sanibel Island.
    The whitest sand you'll find anywhere in the world.



    Want to know what it feels like to ride a motorcycle over beautiful bridges like this?
    Sit on the roof of the car next time you go over a bridge ,it feels alot like that.
    We stopped at the top of the bridge(totally illegal) to
    take pictures, which I will attempt to post at some time in the future.
    A pod of dolphins was cruising through the channel.
    We also stopped on the levee in Pahokee and saw three small alligators 4-5ft.
    The locals people refer to Pahokee as "The Muck" which refers to the mineral rich dark soil
    in which sugarcane, citrus fruits, and corn are grown by agribusinesses

    Now why would we ride all the way to Sanibel island for a day?
    We had urgent and pressing business,of course, all of which we totally forgot on arrival.

    Here's one for those dreaded cat people.

    RL - Sounds like a great trip along parts of Florida - also, thanks for your advise on restoring the sound on my computer.....I did that before but may try it again!


    Just ate my dinner of linguine with sun-dried tomatoes and clams, I was starved!!!
