All back safe and sound. Trying to air out the house after it being closed up since Fried eh - phew. Don't want to go to A/C yet though.
Traffic at the Fort Erie border was a breeze as was the duty free.
Have to start thinking about work for tomorrow - booooooooo
Sad news about one of our officers killed on her motor cycle this w/end. 30 years young.
Hope everyone enjoyed their time off - summer is knocking hard on our door. Bring it on.

Man survives plunge over 57-metre Niagara Falls

A man plunged over the Canadian side of Niagara Falls on Monday, dropping more than 55 metres into the crashing waters below, but survived.
The man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, suffered life-threatening injuries to his chest and head, and is now being treated in a Hamilton hospital.
Witnesses told Niagara Parks Police the man climbed over a retaining wall about 10 metres above Horseshoe Falls around 10:20 a.m. and deliberately jumped into the Niagara River.

Had a nice afternoon at a Lawn Bowling Jitney where you play three games and the ones who win the most ends may win something in the end. We came in third place so we won $30 each - better than nothing which is what I thought we'd get when we started playing!!!

another fantastic day out. spent it outside grass cutting, watering the gardens & instead of raking, i used the yard works to "rake" up the grass. i must say it works rather well, picks up all the grass & you remove the bag & empty it, no raking & bending to pick up the mounts of grass. i like it. anything that make my yard work easier is great with me.

You know it's a fantastic week-end up north when you don't turn on your laptop even once!!! I don't ever remember a May 2-4 week-end like this one!! 30 degree temperatures and no high winds or overcast clouds!!! A few of "us" (not me) were even in swimming!!! Bring on Summer!!!!

We pretty much got everything cleaned up and "set up" for our summer enjoyment!! Last week-end we noticed that our hot water tank pooched on us, so we ordered another one this week and my son installed it on Saturday... touch wood, everything else was good!!

It was nice seeing our "cottage" friends again and spending some time with them.... They bought a pontoon boat last summer (without the engine) and put an engine that they already had on the new pontoon boat. We took it out for the "maiden voyage" last night and it worked great!!! (I had no doubts )

I hope everyone had a great long week-end.... I'm going back to catch up!!

Bob Geldof managed to cut open his hand badly during the scene in which his character destroys his hotel room. To the astonishment of the crew, Geldof refused medical attention until director Alan Parker had the scene wrapped up.

When the camera shows the crowd at the concert during In The Flesh, one of audience members is wearing a shirt bearing the words "Bob Geldof".
