Looks like the Hockeyfest Concert has finally been canceled. Seems the promoter failed on so many levels from security, medical and traffic control. Oh well good thing I didn't buy my ticket yet.

Ottawa police have confirmed that a suspicious package mailed to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada in Ottawa contained a human foot.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Ottawa police confirmed that a second suspicious package had been intercepted and upon inspection it contained another human body part. Police have not released where the second package was found.

Sgt. Steve Hodgson says the first package, sent to the party's offices on Albert Street, just blocks from Parliament Hill, was only partially opened by a receptionist at the party's 12th floor headquarters before it was deemed suspicious.

Constable Marc Sousy says the investigation is on going.

"It has to come from someone's body, whether that person is dead or alive, the investigation will determine. from the state of the foot, they can determine if it's from a dead body or not and we go from there."

A woman on the 14th floor of the building said police wearing hazmat suits were seen in the building and that employees on her floor were told not to go to the 12th floor.

The woman, who did not give her name, also said workers on her floor were taking pictures and posting to Facebook.

Television footage also showed police carrying what looked like a cooler down a hallway of the building, although Sgt. Hodgson said the package was still in the building at mid-afternoon.

The Conservative party said only that a suspicious package was sent to their office and referred all questions to Ottawa police.

Police say they are investigating if the foot is connected to a severed torso discovered in a suitcase in Montreal, Tuesday.

Ottawa police find severed hand hours after human foot sent to Tory headquarters

Ottawa — Police discovered a second package containing a body part on Tuesday, hours after a stunned Conservative receptionist opened a blood-soaked box containing a human foot that had been delivered to the party’s headquarters.

On Tuesday night, investigators carried out the second package in a brown paper bag from a Canada Post sorting plant through which every letter or package sent to or from Ottawa travels.

Police X-rayed the bag before they opened it to find a hand. Police said the package with the hand was not destined for the Conservative Party of Canada, but wouldn’t say where it was to be sent.
