McDonald's opens up vegetarian-only restaurants in India By QMI Agency REUTERS/Fred Prouser/Files Vegetarian McDonald's might sound like an oxymoron, but the burger empire is opening its first meat-free restaurants in two Indian cities. Spokeswoman Lisa McComb said it's just a natural extension of McDonald's policy to offer culturally appropriate menus. Most of the chain's international restaurants offer local variants on classic dishes. India boasts major Hindu and Muslim populations, and both religions place restrictions on certain kinds of meat. "McDonald's respects local cultures and has adopted our menu and dining experience to local preferences. In India, our McDonald's kitchens have always been divided into separate sections for cooking vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and the restaurants there do not sell beef or pork," said McComb. "The new restaurants in pilgrimage areas will be vegetarian-only because of the specific area and customer base. This further speaks to McDonald's efforts to cater to local tastes." The new locations will open in Amritsar and Katra next year.

it's been a crazy busy week for me at w*rk this week, but it's super short for me since I'm taking Friday off to help my daughter move some stuff back to her "university house"... one more crazy day...

Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

I had one of those days. It took me 5 hours to walk half a block & mail a letter. I should have known better than to walk through our lobby (there's a reason I often sneak out the back & through the garage ). My poor neighbour was trying to help our new building manager deal with some important folks from the gas company (same folks who were here on the weekend trying to figure out whether we actually had a leak on Friday). Not only was the gas company here, someone had plumbing issues, there was something that had to be checked with the building's mechanical unit & someone had to supervise a painter that had come to do work at one of the neighbours. Guess who got the job of babysitting the painter? Well, actually, I had to keep him safe from the happy kisses of the resident doggies. At least I managed to finally mail my letter (& got into trouble with the roommates for being gone for so long & flirting with other doggies ).

Someone is squeaking her toy, so I'd better go play.

Wow, looks like I recieved an invite for the Triumph interview etc too!!! Didn't see it until about 8:30 pm. tonight as I was still walking home! As Lee is also a big fan we will both be going!!! Yipeeeee!!! (Rock & roll machine - fastest I've ever seen...etc. etc!!) my old faves!!!!
