In an effort to support physical fitness
I've decided to coach a local team.

I guess I'm just a community-minded kind of guy.

I am all about giving back to the community, I volunteer as assistant coach, i know many different positions.

Night all. Great day today. Went to see Raffi with the Grandkids. The three year old loved it!

Happy rainy Sunday Q'Bees,

I can't believe the weekend is coming to a close....
So much to do and so little time.
I began going through my closet to gather the clothes I no longer need or wear
and give them to a women's shelter in my area. I do that with my daughter's things too.

Update:

My mom thank goodness is doing well. I had been doing research on various assisted
living facilities in Montreal and there are quite a few.... My mom initially wanted to go to a public facility
however the waiting list is years long... and there is no guarantee of the area you will be placed in while
you wait for one in your chosen area to become available. I went ahead and began looking at private
facilities. I had no idea what kind of cost was involved. You need to have $$$ or you could end up
in a hospital like setting... no privacy, nothing of your own really.
As well, some places do not want you if you are not able to walk. If you have a walker or heaven forbid a
wheelchair.... forget it. They will not look at you.
Fortunately there are a number of residences in the area where my mom was living before her surgery.
One was kiddy- corner to her apartment and I was able to negotiate a bit of a deal for her for 1 year.
The building and apartments were just renovated. Her rent covers her meals snacks, laundry, and house cleaning.
The meals are kosher, though we were not religious at hoke when I was growing up. At least my mom is in an
environment that is familiar to her. What we did not expect, was to get a bill at the end of the month for close
to 1000.00.!!! When you need any extra assistance .. cha ching!
At this rate I will have to look for another place for her to live.
I was able to get her into physio full time. Knowing my mom she will have much more use of her right arm
and hand in the next few months and she is hoping to be rid of her walker.
Let's hope we all have good health as long as possible!

Thanx for the update Mmmme.. Sorry to hear of the expense of the assisted living in Montreal and how selective some of them can be. I'm glad your Mom is getting more mobile - that will be so good for her and her sense of independance. Good luck on your continuing search for the right place at the right price. Hope you are doing all right.
