Gonna make sure my boat is storm ready....here's what I have in case I get stuck. Trust me, you never know when it'll happen.

    -Blankies (self explanatory)
-For some reason they say to have a candle with matches, do they even make matches anymore Not sure why the candle but they're cheap so buy em and then eat a can of something and put the candle in there.
-Have some extra clothes and shoes. In this case, I put in wooly sockies, extra hat, mitts, scarf, jacket or sweater and some pantalones
-Emergency First Aid Kit with a Seat Belt Cutter/Window Breaker (just in case you end up on the 401)
-Flashlight with extra batteries (no really 0.0)
-Food (seriously bring food you'll thank yourself later, just make sure it's non-perishable types. I'm sorry, that means no bacon v.v)
    -Water (another no brainer)
-Small shovel (or one that collapses), scraper, snowbrush
-Warning lights or flares (just in case they didn't see the frozen bicyclist, shhhh)
-Whistle (so we can all be like Rose in Titanic)
-antifreeze and washer fluid (though you should always have extra washer fluid)
-Fire extinguisher (...do I look stupid enough to battle a car fire???)
    -Maps (those nautical thingies)
-Sand, salt or non-clumping cat litter (you know, traction. In my case I also have traction grips I put under the tires in case I get stuck. Some may want chains if it's allowed.)
-Tow rope and jumper cables (you're a moron if you don't have cables as a basic essential in your car)

As an added bonus....BRING A BOOK you're gonna get bored and need to preserve battery cell life.

This just for a "Disaster Movie Marathon"???

I had quite the roadtrip to the US this past weekend...
I learned a lot...and some of it was even at the seminar!

Never go to the US without a GPS, especially New Jersey.
Remind Guelph people about passports before meeting them inBurlington.
Never let P. be the navigator.
    Determine the directions for myself.
Have contact numbers of other people at the event and who are going to the after dinner.
Never follow someone on the turnpike who has an EZ pass forthe tolls when you do not.
    Have a backup plan.
Don’t be the only one with a cellphone.
Make sure that you know the destination, not the person thatdoesn’t know where you parked the car.
Sign up for the international text message package of 25texts for 4 $ instead of paying .75 for each outgoing text.

There probably is more, but you get the idea...

This was like an allnight driving party coming back. But the blizzards were only in Pennsylvania. Northwards was good...
