and of course call in when you did --- hell i was barely paying attention, but called and now have had
one of bruce springsteens albums for almost as long as i have lived --- thinking it is not worth over
13,000 bucks though

Sorry, I don't follow what you're saying but, simply put, I know the answer and it is one of the guesses I posted here a few days ago (on Wednesday, I believe). I've been trying to get through with my guess but this contest is cluttered with folks who don't have a clue (excuse the pun). So, in the hopes that one of you might win with my guess and provide me a little kickback, I have been posting some directions to my guess.

However, if my own clues have seemed vague, I apologize. I like this thread and I don't want to jeopardize my membership.

So, with that, the answer is:
Mott the Hoople - "All the Young Dudes"

The actual clip could fit into a couple of places in the song, the first one being at approximately 01:34 or so.

Q107's Clues:
1. "Is" refers to the current exhibition at the AGO - "David Bowie Is" and David Bowie wrote this song. He also sings the choruses in Mott the Hoople's version of it.
2. "Hey" refers to the lyrics, "Hey Dudes" and "Hey You".
3. "Top 5 hit in the UK", as this was, reaching #3 on the UK charts but only #37 on the US charts.
4. "Caesar". Would anyone like a bloody caesar? I make mine with the spicy version of Mott's Clamato.

Hi Guys!

I am new here but have totally been following this forum a few times in the past! This clip is driving me nuts!!
Ozcam I think you are on to something here with this song but i am just not hearing it in the song, I feel like the entire song as vocals and other instruments in the background. But the sound of the guitar definitely feels right!

My boyfriend and I originally thought the song was What is Life- George Harrison but with all of the clues now and listening more closely we see that it is not

I tried calling in last week and got through twice on the same time- was bummed out to be caller 67 and then 95. But hey at least i know it is possible to get through!!

Anyone thinking now that the song is unrelated to Bowie with these clues??
