Good morning (afternoon?), everyone.
Just got back from getting bloodwork done. Boy, were the patients cranky. One even started yelling at a nurse. I was not impressed (hey, we're all in less than perfect health, why aggravate your health even more - I got some dirty looks for that crack ). On the plus side, all the staff know me (even the ones who have nothing to do with my healthcare) & were only too happy to chat with me & make the cranky one wait an extra minute or so.
Then, I went to the post office to pick up my Mom's Xmas present that was supposed to be delivered to my door, except I was apparently on the phone with someone trying to sell me something for all of 30 seconds when they tried to call me (only phone call I had at the time on the notice). On the plus side, I now have the present, just have to wrap it, & all my Xmas shopping & wrapping is done. I'll still do some baking at some point this week (depends on whether company comes) and I will likely be drafted into helping with baking while recovering from the surgery (I wonder how well gingerbread men wearing eye patches would go over? ).
Brats are waiting patiently in front of the fridge, willing it to bring them something yummy. It would appear they are starving again cause they didn't get a mid-morning snack.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

It's terrible when people in the waiting room are crabby & rude. It makes it very unsettling for other people. I agree with Andi...why aggravate your health even more?
How is everyone doing? I am feeling overwhelmed by too much stuff happening, so I'm taking a break & coming here on SC for a little visit.
Andi did you look after those starving critters? They sure have you pegged don't they!!

Good afternoon my Q friends. Just got back from a sleepover at mom and dad's. Had a blast with my nephew. He's 5 1/2 years old and he's right into the video games and computer. I have an impossible time trying to figure out the controls let alone playing the game. So many buttons and toggle thingamabob. Totally confusing. But I have fun watching him play. We watched Night at the Museum. Totally love that movie. Getting along good with my bro again. Thank God. It's going to be a good Christmas, hopefully. Seahawks beat the 49ers. Right On San Fran are out for a chance at the playoffs. GO SEAHWKS GO!!!! They are making a major serious comeback from the beginning of the season.

That made me laugh - it brought back memories of Mom asking me how I liked my Blueberry. However, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Technological advancements are not necessarily for the better.
For example, take eReaders. ~ Channeling my inner Rodney ~ I mean it . Take them. Please. I've been an avid reader since, well, ever. The only time I can recall not regularly indulging was when my daughter was first born when I chose to spend my me-time in slumber rather than with a good book.
A tablet does not have the warmth of a book. Even a hard to hold tome is much more enjoyable to read on printed paper than with back lighting. I find the physical act of turning the page to be one of life's little joys. In no way does it compare with the "slide", which is bereft of tactile pleasure. Funny, before eReaders, I did not understand that reading was a contact sport!
And yes, when I was your age.....
Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.
