Morning all.

The recent blasts from the past reminded me of a conversation Hubby and I had the other night where we added to our set of items/phrases we've dubbed if they don't get the reference, they're too young to date list.

I won passes to an advanced screening of Selma and there was a boatload of threatening info in the fine print re: banning recording devices, including cell phones. Not knowing how strict they'd be, we decided to leave our cell phones at home. Driving to the subway, Hubby sez he feels naked and OMG, what are we going to do if we get separated (we have been known to lose one another at Home Depot and cell phones work much better than the old locator methods). Easy sez I - if we get separated, let's meet at the Bulova Tower.

We both chuckled and agreed that should be added to the list!

Do you know I believe absolutely no one should be included as cancer's debtor?
Can I also give a thumbs up to the people who are my comrades in this crusade?
Do you know I wish with all my heart, that we could organize an effective blockade?
Don't you agree that there is no fairness when it comes to *its* nasty fury?
Have I told you that it isn't easy to see my loving friends & family worry?
Do you know that all we can ever do is try to keep on rolling with the flow?
Do you realize that I still have dreams & places that I want to do?
Do you know that sometimes I feel cheated & blindsided with this cancerous assault?
Wouldn't it be nice if I could take *its* advances & seal them up in airtight vault?
Do you know that I do not like to drab nor do I want to be presumptuous or assuming?
But, can I please ask you to set your thoughts for me on positive swirling & blooming?

POTUS v little Johnny

Little

Johnny meets Barack Obama.

Barack Obama

was visiting a primary school in North Carolina and visited a fourth

grade class. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words

and their meanings.

The teacher

asked the president if he would like to lead the discussion on the

word 'tragedy.' So our illustrious president asked the class for an

example of a 'tragedy.'

One little

boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is

playing in the field and a tractor runs him over and kills him, that

would be a tragedy."

"No," said Obama,

"that would be an accident."

A little girl

raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove off a

cliff, killing everyone, that would be a tragedy."

"I'm

afraid not," explained Obama. "That's what we would call a great

loss."

The room went

silent. No other child volunteered. Obama searched the room.

"Isn't there someone here

who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally at

the back of the room, Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher held

her breath.

In a quiet

voice he said: "If the plane carrying you and Mrs.

Obama was

struck by a

'friendly fire' missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a

tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaimed

Obama. "That's right. And can you tell me why that

would be a tragedy?"

"Well," says Johnny,

"It has to be a tragedy, because it sure as hell

wouldn't

be a great loss ... and you can bet your sweet ass it wouldn't be an

accident either!"

The teacher

left the room.
