    Andi pointed out something that is so important when it comes the way we human beings conduct ourselves. It is truly so important to spend time with the people who mean something to you when you are able to. You'll never regret it & it just might mean a great deal to the person who is not well. May good luck be with your friend who is having major surgery. I hope they have a nice uncomplicated & swift recovery. Sometimes spending time in rehab is one of the hardest jobs one can ever have. I don't think you sound melancholy at all. You are being a supportive friend & that in itself can help to cruise for miles.
