Ontario hospitals that charge more than $10 a day for parking will have to offer passes that discount rates by 50 per cent.
Health Minister Eric Hoskins said Monday hospitals will have to offer 5-, 10- and 30-day discounted parking passes starting in October.
Each hospital will have to work with patient and family advisory groups on the details of the parking plans.
Hoskins says about 900,000 patients and their visitors will benefit from reduced parking fees each year at hospitals.
He says parking fees should never be a barrier for patients or their families when they go to hospital. The hospitals have also been told not to raise daily parking fees for the next three years, starting Monday.

A while ago a new supermarket opened in Ajax , Ontario.
It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh.










Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder
and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing
and there is the scent of freshly mowed hay.










In the meat department there is the aroma of
charcoal grilled steaks with onions..










When you approach the egg case, you hear hens
clucking and cackling, and the air is filled with the
pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.










The bread department features the tantalizing smell
of fresh baked bread and cookies.



I don't buy toilet paper there anymore..

As you say HG it's about time. It cost a fortune when my dad was in the hospital.

An absent-minded tourist left his wife stranded at a gas station and didn’t notice she was missing for almost 60 miles.
The man, identified only as Walter, was driving home to Argentina from a holiday in Brazil when he stopped at a gas station.
After filling up his car he went to the bathroom - not realizing his wife, who has been named as Claudia, had got out of the car to buy cookies after she had been sleeping on the backseat.

Walter and his 14-year-old son, who was sitting on the front seat playing a game on a mobile, then continued on their journey leaving Claudia behind.
When she realized they had left without her, Claudia reportedly tried to call her husband’s mobile but could not get through due to lack of signal.
She then contacted the local police who took her to the station until her husband returned two hours later.

A traffic police officer in the Brazilian area of Passo Fundo said the wife was so angry she kicked the car when she returned, the Telegraph reports.
He said: “She was very angry. She was moaning at him for taking so long to realize. “There was no physical assault, but she was more upset when I saw the husband.”


(Bet he knew she was there for the rest of that journey!!)
