I was reading an interesting article about an Australian doctor who came up with a treatment for HIV and cancer only to have it stolen and buried by authorities at Cedars Sinai Hospital


''After reporting profound and exciting results, researchers at Cedar Sinai Medical Center, UCLA and USC decided to remove my name from the discoveries and publish them as their own. They denied knowing me in media attacks across the world, but worst, although they had stolen the technology, they decided not to release it. They did patent it, mind you, to stop others from copying it. For me, that was the final straw. I sued them in Federal Court and I won. The damage they had done, however, was irreversible. They had taken and destroyed all of the cultures they had promised to safe guard for me and told the world and the FDA that the in-vitro data that I had paid them to produce was fabricated.''

Ghomeshi Won't Head to Court For Second Trial

It sounds as if Jian Ghomeshi will not go to a second trial on a charge of sexual assault. That trial was scheduled to begin on June 6th. According to the sources, Ghomeshi will enter into a Peace Bond on Wednesday. It basically means he will promise to "keep the peace and be of good behaviour" for as long as a year.

Nearly 90 per cent of Fort McMurray Still Intact

Premier Rachel Notley, who toured Fort McMurray on Monday, said roughly 2,400 buildings in Fort McMurray have been damaged or destroyed. The hospital, municipal buildings and all of the schools have been saved. Most of the critical infrastructure remains. The Alberta government will release a plan to let people back into Fort McMurray and neighbouring communities in about two weeks.
