Woman Stuck on Downtown Crane 12 Storeys Up

Rescue efforts continue as firefighters try to get down a person who climbed up a crane in the downtown core before getting stuck. The person was trespassing and climbed up the piece of machinery at a construction site near Church and Wellesley St. That intersection remains closed. Reports say the person, believed to be a woman, is approximately 12 storeys up. Hope she is not only charged by the police for the usual list of charges, but the city also bills her for the rescue. The construction company should also be charged for allowing her to get thru some how.

93% of LCBO Workers Support Strike Mandate in Province-Wide Vote

It’s a pretty overwhelming number – LCBO staff have voted 93% in favour of a strike as their union continues to bargain for a new collective agreement. Voting by OPSEU had been ongoing since Monday. The good news is that OPSEU President Smokey Thomas says as it stands, no strike Is planned. Both sides will instead return to the bargaining table with a strong mandate from the workers.

Coghlan's Leap Lifts Blue Jays Over Cardinals

Chris Coghlan made an acrobatic, run-scoring leap over All-Star catcher Yadier Molina, and Marcus Stroman scored the go-ahead run after a pinch hit double in the 11th in the Toronto Blue Jays' 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. That was an awesome play. Thanx for the video clip, Goodboy.
