Three rushed to hospital after serious collision on HWY 401

The eastbound and westbound express lanes of Highway 401 are closed this morning in North York due to a serious crash that sent three people to hospital after a chain reaction crash involving two tractor-trailers and an SUV. It happened just before 1am on Thursday on the eastbound express lanes near Allen Road. No word yet on what caused the crash but expect some serious slowdowns in the area. For now, all east and westbound express lanes are shut down between the 404 and the Allen. There are some ramp closures in the area as well. No word yet on how long it will be before all lanes re-open.

New data released suggests Torontonians smoke a lot of pot. 141.7 million joints a year in fact. The Environics Analytics report out this morning also found we pay a bit more than the national average for our weed in Toronto: $7.67 a gram on average -- below the national average of $7.36. The data also revealed that weed is most popular among young, diverse singles in high-rises, which could pose some problems as condo boards scramble to ban weed smoking ahead of the October 17th legalization.

Raptors GM Masai Ujiri betting on themselves with acquisition of Kawhi Leonard

Whether Kawhi Leonard wants to play in Toronto or not -- bookies seem to like the idea. So much so, Toronto’s betting odds to win the NBA final have shot up. According to Bodog, the raptors are currently 18/1* to capture their first franchise title in 2018-19, an improvement from 30/1, which they were listed at before the deal was made official.
