Toronto to deploy 200 police officers to address gun violence

The city's plans to curb gun violence will also get a major push forward starting tonight. 200 additional officers will patrol Toronto streets in areas that have seen more shootings this year. There have been 27 deadly shootings already this year, up from 17 at the same time last year. Over the next 8 weeks the new officers will be deployed between the hours of 7pm and 3am when the brunt of the shootings take place.

Radiohead demand answers over Toronto stage death

The lead singer of Radiohead says the people responsible for a stage collapse that killed a drum technician during the band's Toronto show six years ago are still not being held accountable. Thom Yorke made the comments to the crowd last night during the British band's first concert in the city since the fatal incident on June 16th of 2012. Scott Johnson was killed and three others were injured when part of a massive stage structure crashed down just hours before Radiohead was due to perform.

Kisner shoots 66 for lead at Open Championship

Kevin Kisner took an early lead at Carnoustie, shooting a 5-under 66 in his morning tee-time that held up for a one-shot lead after the first round of the Open Championship. Tiger Woods was five shots back with a 71, while the lone Canadian in the field, Adam Hadwin, shot a 2-over 73.
