Had a bit of a scare this morning. I was driving to work & noticed a cyclist standing beside his bike. Did think much about it, figured he had stopped to rest, take a drink, the phone thing, when all of a sudden, he just keeled over, bike & all & laid there. I quickly pulled the car to the side of the road, stopped, ran over to him to see if he needed assistance. When I asked if he was ok, he replied, "I blacked out. Good thing I had my helmet on." His head did hit the road, but it wasn't with a lot of force. I helped him up, checking for any injuries. He said he was fine that way, but feeling a little sick & weak. I loaded his bike in the back of the car, got him buckled into the front seat & took him home. By the time I got him home, he was feeling a little better. He thanked me for the ride & was headed inside to rest a while. On the drive to his house, he said he always did an 80km ride every day & he barely had 10km when he started to feel ill. He thought he could make it back home, as it was mostly down hill. I'm glad I was there to help out as there's very little traffic on that road early Caturday morning. Got to work 15 mins late, but so what. Getting him home safe was more important than work.

Why do police officers ask why you were speeding instead of just giving you a ticket?


I don't generally answer questions like this as it kind of “gives too much away” to civilians. But the fact is that it is a method of interrogating a person to see if they will admit that they were speeding. This is a comment that the police officer can and will include in his report to the judge regarding the traffic ticket that he issued to the civilian in question.
And if you answer in a positive way indicating that you knew that you were speeding or giving the officer a reason as to why you were speeding then you have convicted yourself of speeding out of your own mouth

Happy Sunday Q sters,

Yesterday had the return of hockey & basketball, baseball was Friday. Jays have won their last 2 games over the Orioles & will play them again this afternoon at 3.
Yesterday saw the Lightning go up 3-1 over the Bruins, Islanders & Knights take a 2-1 lead over the Flyers & Canucks. Today sees the Avs & Stars play at 6pm, Flyers vs the Islanders at 8pm & the Knight vs the Canucks at 10:30pm.
This afternoon at 1pm sees the Raptors vs the Celtics for game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Weekend turned out pretty darn good weatherwise.

Raptors lost their 1st game to the Celtics, 112-94.
Jays came from behind to beat the Orioles, 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th.
Yesterday saw the Stars, Islanders & Knight win theirs game & go up 3-1 in their respective series. Tonight could see the Bruins & Canucks hit the golf course tomorrow. They are in a must win situation. The Lightning & Knights could advance to the next round.
