Ugh...I hate Target.
When my hubby lived in the states I would go in there and find nothing. So expensive compared to Walmart.
I hate that the one Zellers they are keeping in Brampton is the crappiest Zellers EVER!http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Dayanara - Earn free stuff just for searching the web!

The 105 stores on the list wont know until september if they will actually become target stores or not, they are just the leases that target is taking.
Apparently the big guys had a deadline to make some sort of announcement by the end of may. They arent finished yet, as part of the agreement, they had to list so many stores by then.
Out of the ones they chose, they will decide which ones to convert to target, and which ones to get rid of. So if your store isnt on the list, it doesnt mean much yet, they just havent gotten around to naming the rest, and the ones that are on the list, doesnt neccessarily mean they will be target for sure.Do you want to buy and sell Bitcoin? oooh! I'm excited! But also happy my loacal Zellers is staying a Zellers... if that makes any sence. lol. I really close to Vancouver/Burnaby, so it would only take me 20 or so mins to get out to a target, and 5 mins to get to a zellers. I still like Zellers for their spot sales/clearances and for some reason some things are cheaper there than other places. Plus I've been going to that Zellers since I was a baby... Ok ramble over..

I agree I seldom shop at Target when I am in the US. Expensive etc. But I have heard that they put out great coupons and that they have a great coupon policy. And when It comes to retail, competition is a good thing. I plan my US road trips around the super Walmarts so I know what you are saying. I am still excited for the change.

Don't cry for the Shwa autoworkers.
I believe they will be taken care of. The last I heard, there may be packages/incentives for those near retirement. The Shwa GM plant has won awards in the past. I think that the Ontario government will "help" those affected ...again.
Anyone with a GM family member -- can you confirm my info above?
Thx.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Thu, May 26th, 2011 at 04:38 PM.

Sorry that your Target U.S. shopping experiences have not been satisfying.
For me, the $9.99 Spring coat in the closet, the $11.99 winter coat in the same closet, the $15.99 sexy shoes in the shoe box and the $5.99-$11.99 purses (x5, multiple styles and colours) make me smile knowing Target is coming.
I shopped at the ones in Florida. The clearance health and beauty aids were also great buys for me too. When "Handy Manny" was all the rage, and sold out everywhere in Canada, I got the $29.99 Handy Manny for $5.99 at, where else, Target. Someone hid it on the shelf way in the back, but I still spied it. My friend's little boy loved it so much, he slept with it, drove in the car with it, and ate dinner with it. Thanks to Target.
I hope that Target Canada will be a better shopping experience for you.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Thu, May 26th, 2011 at 04:23 PM.
