I've been keeping an eye on the P&G Everyday Solutions FB page (http://www.facebook.com/PGEverydaySo...rydaySolutions) in order to keep track of both the Brandsaver online page and the Canadian newspaper insert (because I'm interested to learn if/when we're getting the insert and also when the site will be back up). I came across a wall post from someone, who obviously is not a fan of TLC's show 'Extreme Couponing'. What I found particularly interesting was the response P&G gave.

Original Poster: "Extreme Couponing on TLC is sickening!!! I think what's going on is fraud. Secondly why are so many of these people unhealthy? 200 Boxes of pasta that's why.

They might be saving now, but a lifetime of eating all that garbage will result in high medical bills in the future, and guess what I bet our government will foot the bill for th...at.

How long will you the advertisers/manufactures allow this show to stay on Air.

    I'm really curious!!!"

P&G Everyday Solutions: We can tell u are passionate about this @David, as many folks are. Coupons are intended to be redeemed when you purchase the product indicated on the description printed on the coupon. Our hope is they use coupons within the terms and conditions stated on the coupons.

Original Poster: "I do have issues, especially when I see the way some people are dealing with their obesity issues and it's glamorized on a national television series."

"‎@P&G, my only hope is that you help put an end to this show. If you go on Extreme Couponing Facebook page, you'll find several others that agree with me and have their own complaints about the show."

"Like, is it legal for one person to use three different lanes concurrently while checking out? I don't think when coupons first came out, that anyone could have ever imagined seeing something like that. Like all things in life, it's extreme and TLC is making it seem alright. I'm sure if Joan Clever seen anything like what i saw last night, she would be disgusted. "

P&G Everyday Solutions: Thx for the additional info. P&G doesn't endorse or sponsor the show at this time. Comments like yours help us determine our own future ad placement. Thanks again

Huh, The chatspeak is a little unprofessional IMO since most companies will usually respond with perfect sentences etc.
They don't sound too concerned about it...

People SERIOUSLY need to stop getting their panties in a knot over extreme couponing.
It's amazing how bitter some people are about it.

On the other hand though, as much as I love the show, I'm worried about it will impact coupon policies in stores and the manufacturer's policies on the coupons.
It almost seems like P&G is adjusting their policies because of the show. They've started printing new, more strict rules on coupons.

That was the vibe I got- they don't seem to care too much about 'extreme couponing' in general (and by 'extreme couponing' I mean the phenomenon, not the show) as long as we're following the terms of the coupon.

I also agree the chatspeak is a little unprofessional, but I suppose they're doing it to save time. They've been responding to a LOT of angry Canadians who want their brandsaver online coupons back!

hmmm..i also was a little put back by the text speak.text speak annoys me so much.i believe our children will not know how to write a letter, maybe they won't have to,but my nephew actually asked my sister once how to write his signature to get a bank account..seriously?

anyhow, text speak annoys me to no end,and i am a little in awe a professional company would have someone write back using it...

as for the show,i don't have worries that it will change couponing in canada.we are so different from the states, where half your total comes off with a loyalty card alone.i am a little paranoid that P&G has been MIA for some time now.....i am sure,or atleast i hope, they are just improving things, and not taking things away...here's hoping

I like the show and wish we in Canada could do the same with our coupons. I agree/disagree that it is "sickening". I agree that some people are a tad extreme with their stock piles however on the other hand if anybody ever lost their job then they wouldn't have to worry about food for a little while.
On a positive note I watched an episode the other night where a couple with a small child weren't building their stockpile for themselves but rather for charity, now that is nice to see!
