Went to another local BB that is not closing to use up my gift card and most coupons I had for the store. They actually has 30% off pre-viewed dvds/blu-rays so was nice for the ones I did not have coupons for. Spent the last 70 bucks from my gift card and am done with it now, yay!
I would have bought one of the pre-paid VISA/MC's long ago when I had 400 on my gift card but all the stores I tried at wouldn't let me, hit and miss it seems to be able to buy those with a gift card.
I feel bad for those losing their jobs, it really does suck. But I am happy with the deals I got.http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Dayanara - Earn free stuff just for searching the web!

I didn't call your store. I called Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, ON. Sorry you are getting harassed, but people are curious and have questions. They really didn't explain much in the articles, nor is there any information on their website regarding this (well there was none earlier, have not looked since this morning, so not sure if that has changed). So naturally people are going to be curious.

I know, I know there's gonna be a lot of people on this forum that's from all over the place. I'm from BC and I work at one of those stores.
I had just got off work and I had quite a few people who were rude to me over the phone. I was trying to be nice to them and give them a list of stores but all i got was "that's too far" *click*
I do know the articles are unclear about things, they never were so I understand people's curiousity.
It's against company policy to use store credit to buy pre-paid credit cards. So if we tried we could lose our jobsLast edited by xbbx; Fri, May 27th, 2011 at 11:58 PM.

my fiance and I went this afternoon and we got a TON of great movies and TV series insanely cheap.
Its sad that they're closing, but the one by me here the guys are being transfered so they do get to keep their job, just move to a new location then they were at.
for 90$ we got
cars blu ray NEW
incredibles blu ray NEW
flight of the concords season 1 and 2
lost complete series
the office seasons 1-5
arrested development season 1-3
six feet under complete series
wii beatles rock band (game only)
a digital photo frame
6 bags of candy that I brought into work for everyone to eat
and 12 random movies that he wanted to get that I just couldnt say no to.
really a great deal!
they're even selling new releases off the shelf if they're in stock....pretty crazy morning there indeed. line up took about 15 minutes.

I think BBV is probably lying to them & just using them till they liquidate their store ..there is no way they will be able to accomodate them at the other location .
..maybe a couple of them will be transferred but most will be laid off
The only way they can do that is by cutting their hours & the hours of the existing staff @ the other location BIG TIME.
I've seen this happening at other stores when they close down ..technically they don't fire you ..but they barely give you any hours ..sometimes you go weeks & months without any hours ..this is especially true for part timers ..then you get frustarted & quit on your own

So glad I was on sc and read about BBV closing. We had about $145.00 credit on a card from when we turned in all those used dvd's. Well my store closest to me said I could not come there to use up my credit, I had to go to 1 of 3 other locations, I found that weird since the other 3 locations are also going to be closing.
We went straight away to Pickering store and managed to get 4 great Wii things.
We just paid the tax ( around $14.00) and got so much!
15 in 1 family pack of things like fishing rod, baseball bat, golf clubs, tennis rackets, etc ( $29.99)
Dance Dance revolution ( $39.99)
Wii Speak ( $19.99)
Mario Kart (? DD's choice ) ( $ 49.99)
To think my old dvd's were in the basement collecting dust and now it turned into this! Love it.
I am so sad however for the employees. They probably knew it was coming, but still does not make it any easier to swallow. Sorry guys who this affects.Last edited by walkonby; Mon, May 30th, 2011 at 01:38 PM.

I went to my location on Satuday at 11pm .. and you could tell that everything was picked through. However did snag some good bargains
Only bad thing is that new realeases were sent to the locations that weren't closing. If you can't get what you want right now just wait until the stores that are still open go into their "clearance sales"
