I love how people who want to pressure their employer into concessions hold all of us hostage. Actually it's the opposite of love. They are hurting me. They are hurting my family, and they know they are. That's exactly what they're counting on. They're hurting me and my family so I'll pressure the government to cave in to their demands.
You may or may not have legitimate demands Canada Post employees, but when you choose to make me, and my children your victims, I lose all sympathy for you.
Get back to work. Millions of Canadians would love to have your jobs/salaries/benefits.
OK. I vote Monday for Ottawa. I won't have to drive past the strikers that day and I want to get the 24 hours over with. So strike away for your 24 hours, get it out of your system and then get back to work! :)

I will survive no coupon delivery and will be sad but I am very thankful that arrangements are made to ensure delivery of pensions cheques and stuff. We all have the computer to access bills and banking etc but some seniors don't have Internet and as long as they are taken care of I can't complain. But I will booohooooo just a little...lol
My rural delivery person has not picked up or delivered mail since Wednesday and, when I called the post office in my town, they said they would not accept any new mail into the system. I thought it was only Winnipeg that was on a strike and that a strike might rotate to some places in Ontario BUT it seems to be killing mail down my gravel road. Perhaps the PO here is pulling a sympathy stunt or maybe they have orders to keep mail out of the system until there IS a system again.
What's everyone else's experience?

Have not recieved mail yet for today but I sent mail yesterday through my post office and they said they have not gotten a stop from them so they will continue to take mail. What area is Ontario are you in?
Maybe it's because you live in a rural area and not "in the city" kind of thing? I don't know but it really doesn't surprise me either. I'm in Ontario as well and just read that Hamilton, On is the next to go on strike. *shrugs*

Winnipeg made the news because of the new plant and postal transformation there has had a big impact on the workers. It appears that there will be rotating strikes and it could be anywhere. The purpose of that is to keep Canada Post management on edge.
There will not be a public listing of where the strike action will be. Employees will be notified by their union of who will be walking the street.
The union cannot afford to pay strike pay to all union members for a full walkout so they will resort to random strike action in different facilities.
