I agree! I have started couponing about a month and a half ago! And my end goal is to pay nothing or almost nothing for packaged foods.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!!!
This is the key to couponing - KNOW YOU'RE PRICING!!!
I used to think 3.49 was a great deal for a taco kit...now I know it goes on sale for 2.99 regularly...combine with a $1 coupon...DEAL!!!
I like the idea of listing prices NOT including coupons...lowest price you can get in the store...then it is up to indivduals to add coupons to reduce further (due to east vs west coast/stacking availability and so on...most of Easterners can't get what you westerners can for free).
Philadelphia Cream Cheese 400g - 2.77 - Rock Bottom Price!
Crispers - $1
Cheese Slices (name brand) - 1.99
Eggos - 1.79
Toaster Studel - 1.99
Herbal Essences - 1.99
Is there any way to do this similiar to the "Official Deals..." thread where it can just be updated/edited maybe alphabetically????
Can we make this a Wiki thread? That way when someone comes across a better deal (sans coupons) they can update it???
This rocks!!!
The search feature on these forums comes in handy here.
If I'm ever unsure of something I click search, go to advanced search. I only search in the Deals & Flyers forums (or else you get almost all coupon train/trading stuff, usually) for the item that I need and it usually brings up a few previous sale prices from brags or flyers, etc.
I thought $2.50 was pretty decent for Dove Deodorant, but apparently it's been on sale for $1.49 before? I'd love some of that action, especially with all the new dove coupons.
I stocked up at $0.75 a stick when the Pharma Plus near me freshened their inventory a few months ago. (It's the only kind I can use because of my allergies)
Rock bottom prices that will always sucker me in (excluding coupons)
$4.50 or less for 500g cheese
$2 or less for 500g cottage cheese
$0.99 for broccoli
$0.75/lb for sweet potatoes
$0.79/lb for winter squash (seasonal)
$2.50 or less for 525g of All-bran original
Royale 30 single roll ply 2 at 140 sheets- 3.99
Coffeemate creamer (original) 1.4kg - 3.99
Largest size pampers sz1-6 @ 19.99
For the cheese, I disagree. I don't buy large quantity of cheese when it cost more than 3.75$/500g. I've seen 3.145$/500g (a 50% at Maxi). Sometime even less.
For the meat theses are the minimum prices that I've seen:
Chicken breast, skinless, boneless 2.99$/lb (beware of the seasoned ones)
Chicken legs, with skin 0.69$/lbs
Whole Chicken 0.99$/lbs
Turkey, 0.99$/lbs or less
Angus beef (for roastbeef) 2.99$/lbs
Lean ground pork 0.99$/lbs (around september) (you can replace all ground beef by groud pork)
pork tenderloin 1.99/lbs
Truit: 11$/kg or less
I think that's it.
I won't pay more than
$4.99 on 500g bricks of cheese
$3.99 for Ben&Jerry's icecream
$2 for 12 pack large eggs
$0.79lb for bananas
$0.90lb for apples
$1.99 for cauliflower or broccoli
My list is still growing :) Great compilation though, I've gotten some ideas already!
I LOVE this thread...I will keep watching this one!
I've been buying a lot of my meats at the local Asian grocery stores in my area. I know there tends to be some form of stigma about these places for a lot of people but the meat's always been fresh and far cheaper than my local big name stores.
I'm also finding that some of the larger Asian stores like T&T and Foody Mart have brand name items at their regular price cheaper than when they're on sale elsewhere. Yop is $0.68 cents all the time at our Foody Mart. Even when Walmart has it on sale it's never been that cheap. I think the lowest I've seen it go is $0.88.
I haven't looked in to whether these stores also take coupons but it's been a good spot to get the regular items for us.
