Thread: Pricesmart - new coupon policy

Apparently PriceSmart came out with a new policy last Sunday. The new one states that they will not allow coupons that are higher in value than the product. This is according to the cs at Frsr Hwy and 188th in Surrey. When I asked cs if I could get a copy of the new policy I was told they were not allowwd to hand it out. I then asked if I could read their copy and was told that they were not allowed to show it to customers!?! I dont understand why hiding the policy from customers would benefit them? If i had access to their policy I could come in better prepared and not have to waste their time or mine. CS said that basically it said that stacking is allowed as long as ur coupons have differant codes. I told him it obviously has more changes than that since I wasnt allowed to use my coupons just now. It's like this guy thought by showing it to me it would risk national security or something....
Anyways, just wanted to let u know of the change. I was so excited when they started to let customers stack but was put off by my experience with them today. I am going to go back and talk to the manager about it. Really the coupon policy should be posted so customers can see it! This would benefit EVERYONE!This thread is currently associated with: PriceSmart

I stacked couple times in the same Price Smart last week without any problem, just no coupon allowed if it is over the price of the product, not even 1 cent, no adjustment on coupons. I tried to price match the Advil, no problem, but could not use the 4$ coupon.

There was a copy of the Overwaitea Food Group policy posted when they first started to stack. This covers Pricesmart and SOF. It stated that they will not accept the coupon if it brings the value of the coupon(s) over the price of the item being purchased. So if you are buying an item for $3.99 and you have 4 X $1.00 coupons then you can only use 3 of them and have to pay the other $0.99. Oh well, it's still nice of them to let us stack.

My Price Smart still does not allow stacking, and not all SOF stack yet. I have been waiting patiantly, as it's only like 3 blocks from my house, where as the SOF (does stack and is amazing BTW lol) is about 7 minutes away.
Stacking at these stores is still REALLY new, so I understand why they may not have a concete policy. I was told it's still in it's "trial period" as well.
As long as we are patient, polite, and let it take it's time to work out, I think we (couponers) can have a loong lovely relationship with both SOF and PM!

No need to appologise! Stacking (which can only be done at London Drugs, and Save-On-foods, and Price Smart) is using more than one coupon, from different media sources (tearpad, magazine, flyer, printable, online order) and being able to apply the combined savings, to one item. So long as the UPC's are different, and the total of the coupon(s) is not higher than the price of the item.
So if you want to buy some pickles, on sale for $2.50, and you have one coupon from a tearpad for $1, and another coupon from a magazine for $1, you can use them both towards your one jar of pickles, and only pay .50!
Each store may have further restrictions, or rules, so it's always best to check with your location, to get the lowdown!

I was at the Fleetwood SOF and they wouldn't accept any coupons that say "not valid with any other offer." Is this true for all the locations? It just seems that almost all my coupons say that.

The SOF at South Point in South Surrey (say that 3 times fast!) is great with stacking! I have been able to stack coupons with different UPC's from a same media source even, like 2 tearpad coupons, seamingly identical, but with different UPC's.
They focus way more, on not giving an overage, than wording. I havn't used any, but on their sample/instruction sheet, they have the Brandsaver online, and flyer coupons, as examples of 2 different media sources too lol.

I stacked yesterday at my local PM with no problem. I also had a nice chat with with the Manager about the new policy. He was great to talk to (wish I got his name) Even went to his office to get his copy. Still couldn't get a copy though.
But yeah, everything seemed tickity boo. I asked about overages, he's going to email me about that.
I did notice on the policy (trying to read it as he was) hehe, they accept virtual coupons. Would that mean I can bring up a coupon on my I phone in stead of printing??If you like to make money this may be for you!!http://www.varolo.com/village/Fill-t...ryone-you-meet

I have! They are allright but really depends on the cashier, They do not accept any printables and only one alike stack per person, seems silly to me but I was also having some language barrier issues with the cashier ( her understanding of anything I said was very minimal)
