Examiner Rant! PLAY FAIR!

So everyone and their dog received their coupons in the examiner and I went to check mine and they werent there. I thought, well maybe they will come next week....except I noticed some of the inserts blew onto my lawn from neighbouring houses (lucky me), which got me thinking...wonder if my neighbours got theirs. So I asked. She graciously offered to give me hers...except whaddya know....her P & G coupons are missing. I suspect someone stole the inserts and I am right choked about it. Seriously people....play fair. I've been waiting like a little kid waiting for Christmas for those inserts to come. I want to see them and hold them with my own two hands and to have that chance ripped away by some unfair coupon maven is infuriating. I realize that I can buy the paper and get some that way this weekend, but it seems to me like this could turn into a real sh_t show...and I dont like it! :rant: I seriously dont have the money to be blowing on buying papers when the coupons should have come for free in my examiner. And the worst part....since everyone has gone mental for them....I dont want to call the examiner because I'm sure they have had about 50 million calls from people looking for the inserts and for extra copies so I just cant be bothered to bug them. I needed to vent. I'm just enraged by it all. :thefinger:

At least you get the Examiner! There's no carrier in my area so it doesn't come for me.

That is too bad! It is amazing how low people will go. I have to drive around town like a crazy woman the day the paper with the insert comes out, most times I do not even find a paper. I'm starting to think that the inserts are not worth my time or the gas.

I have been looking high and low for these inserts too. I bought ANOTHER paper today thinking MAYBE they would be in there today, and again nothing. Sucks. Just sucks

Not all Examiners get the inserts. Valasis Canada decides which areas in Edmonton get them. Just because there are no inserts in your paper does not mean that someone stole them. Call up Valasis Canada and they may put you on the mailing list to get the Red Plum and Brandsaver. Otherwise you can always trade people for the coupons you need. There used to be lots of tear pad coupons and now they are all gone when I go to the store. It means I need to evaluate which coupons I really need and then trade people to get them. There is enough coupons for everyone.

They wont give them to you at the examiner anyway (I tried the last time, lol) they dont keep them there, there dispensed by the people who distribute them I was told...so I am sure there a bit irritated by the phone calls.

I even had my bf goto their office in hopes of getting some in Jan and we were let down that they didnt have them there :(

And yes some people dont get them in their examiners, especially if you have a lazy person who doesnt feel like putting them in or they may not have got them altogether, it seems to be hit or miss sometimes, but now I have all my friends and coworkers trained to give them to me ;)

My other neighbours got red plum but not P & G, thats why I suspect someone lifted them...unless we just get one but not the other and thats just dumb!

I only get the brandsaver one and not the Red Plum. When I called The Examiner/Sun they said I was in one of the 28 neighbourhoods in Edmonton that doesn't get the Red Plum. I called Valasis Canada and then got on their mailing list and now I get a red plum in the mail. The easier solution would be to trade your extra red plums with someone else in Edmonton who has extra brandsavers.

I looked all over the Park and couldn't find a journal that had coupons in it. Does anyone know how to get them in the Journal besides subscribing?

I never used to get the Examiner, because we also lack a carrier. But I called their office (that's how I found out we don't have anybody), and expressed interest in having it, and since then, somebody has brought one directly to me each Thursday. My neighbor's aren't getting theirs, but I am because I took a few seconds to call and ask nicely. Maybe if you give it a try, you'll get lucky, too. :)
