You need to take the flyer with you. I have used the price match with the cashier and at the service desk. It depends on the store. Walmart and Zellers price matched at the cashier. London drugs I use the service desk. My london drugs only price matches one item.
thanks.
but what if the lower price isn't in the flyer?
am i out of luck?
Not all stores will pricematch, so you have to make sure that you store will.
Walmart for example (all of them) will pricematch any flyer within a 20km radius. You just need to take your current flyer to any cashier, and they can override the price themselves :-).
RCSS policy states that they only pricematch items on the front page of their flyer, as well as all baby items. Some people have been able to pm other items, so it may be worth asking your store for their details.
London Drugs will price match any local flyer, and although it's not required to be done at the customer service desk, it will save time, and effort, as an override is required. LD is only required to pm one item, and any more is at the discretion of management (or customer service attendant)
Zellers will pm any local flyer price as well, and can be done at cashiers.
Most stores hold the same rules in regards to pm'ing. Must be a local current, flyer. Must have a set price; eg. Old Spice- $3. They will not pm, %off, B1G1 deals.
Also some stores will not PM chains that require a club card for savings, like Save-On-Foods, or Safeway.
Although certain chains may have policies that should apply universally, I have found that individual locations sometimes vary. It really is best to have a quick word with your store manager, or customer service person, to make sure you are familiar with how they run things.
It can sometimes be scary the first few times, but once you see how much money you can save, you'll be hooked, and a pro! Good luck!
Yes, unfortunately it must be a flyer price. Walmart for example may have a clearance item, and even if you buy it, and take the receipt to Zellers, they will not match that price.
Sometimes, you are able to print out the "e flyers", and take them in, if you don't get particular flyer delivered to you, as long as it shows clearly the dates wich the sales are good for.
wow - you are most helpful.
thank you!
and it's funny that you said it can be scary because i am completely nervous to do it.
i'm shy anyway so to do that is totally coming out of my comfort zone.
but i want savings so i have to do this.
thanks again!
No problem! :-). I do know what you mean about being nervous, but again that's why asking beforehand is sooo much easier, as it eliminates any potential embarassment at cashout.
good idea, thanks.
i need to get more comfortable with this whole thing.
the other day i had a printed coupon and i was scared the cashier would question it, so i made my boyfriend hand it over.
i need to get over my shyness with this.
thanks again for your help.
i really appreciate it!
