Nope, it has always been free, and likely always will be since it's an online bank. I've never had any problems with this bank, and I've been with them I think 5-7 years (?). Free cheques, free debit, free ATM use at CIBC terminals, and you can usually get through to a telephone operator within a few minutes. I wish I could sign up again to get free ice cream

Do you have to use the bank account afterwards? And then will it add service charges?

I have a PC account, and there are no service fees. I have loved banking with them

However, they are not our only bank, but they are the only free one
