I never know how to get to the Tea Room or where to post questions like this
So mod please feel free to move it!
I am interested in buying a John Deere lawn tractor as a gift. However I have no idea where to start in what features you'd want it to have ect. Anyone with experience with these tractors and what you'd look for or want please let us know...here is the link to Home Depot where we hope to go tonight and purchase one
Thanks for your help in advance

To get to the tea room for the future, click on the "Forum" tab underneath the Smart Canucks logo at the top of the page. If you scroll down, you'll see 'General Discussion (The Tea Room) underneath the "Community & Discussion) section of the board listing.
Hope that helps

I am not an expert but the first question is the size of the property to be mowed? I believe the ones at HD are great for up to 1 acre .... you want to go with as big a motor as you can afford .... essentially means it will get the job done faster..... they are great little machines... I notice that you are from Vancouver Island -- there is a John Deer dealer - used to be off Keating Cross Road -- but I believe they moved to Duncan --- really terrific place if you are looking for more questions answered... Hope that helps!

Thanks that's great

We live on 20 acres and probably 3 or so of it gets mowed but not all at once or anything, he likes to take his time when he does it. We picked one out tonight that's pretty nice I think and if for any reason he doesn't like it we can return it and get another
I checked the place in Duncan and the site online has loads of the BIG industrial type not so much what I was looking for or can afford but I think this one will serve it's purpose
Thanks for responding, I really appreciate it

What a fabulous BD gift! I hope he loves it!
We have an 84 year old neighbour that has an old junker of a JD .... does a bit of mowing ...but mainly uses it to go up the very long drive to get his paper in the morning
It's a routine that we've gotten used to seeing every day that we're home at 9:00 in the morning...
Thanks for the rep!
