My house is glorious old character building that was in need of love. It is one of those fabulous fixer uppers. Which I could say is a source of constant headache or as opportunity to do high effeciency improvements.
So far my favorite improvement has been installing an electric tankless hot water heater. It cost me $600 to buy, and I had my father help me install it. It hardly makes a mark on my electricity bill.
And now I am venturing into making a small solar panel system from scratch. Which in theory could power all my household lights, but it would too complicated in practice to wire it up. So this first run of solar panels will power a green house. If all goes reasonably with my first run, I will start building more to expand my system on a bigger scale.
I am curious if there are other people who are doing reno's that save money or improve effeciency? This thread is currently associated with: N/A
