We are new to all this and were super excited to get started - but sadly our printer bit the dust just a few days ago and what better way to start our couponing ways then getting a great deal on a new printer -
Any suggestions??
Thank you! :flowers:

I print all my coupons at work (ssshhhhh....don't tell). But, if you need to get a printer, make sure you also figure out how much the ink costs. Some cheap printer have expensive ink cartridges.
I needed ink for my printer the other day, and I came home with a new printer from Future Shop at about $15.00 less then I was going to pay for the ink.
Yes, it really helps to know which printers eat up ink like crazy.
Our former printer was an Epson, was a good printer, but used lots of ink, even on greyscape.
Now we have an HP, and it's awesome on ink usage! It's an all in one inkjet.

Great tips, thanks everyone! It's true, the cost of ink can usually out weigh the cost of a whole new printer. Good to know that your HP, Natalka, is good on ink. We had a canon and it seemed to go through ink alot. I'll keep looking! :)
What about a good black/white laser printer? Check out this thread:

Thanks, I checked out the link and it looks great - but I am also into photography (making money on the side!:top:) so a colour printer would be best. We're appreciating all the help though!!!
A colour laser printer will print much higher quality photos than an inkjet. Might be a bit pricier, but higher quality for the photos you're printing on the side :-) Plus toner lasts much, much, much longer than ink. Hubby's printer is over 5 years old and has yet to change the toner lol. It's an HP LaserJet 1018 - not a colour, just also recommending HP.
we have had HP's no issues... other than they don't last too long(but cheap to buy so not a big deal)
we now have an industrial size HP(for B/W). and an Epson for color prints. (SDM coupons etc for 20x day)
were quite happy with both.
I have yet to try it out as I haven't needed ink or toner yet, but deals seem to pop up frequently on this forum for 123inkcartridges.ca so I might look into that. The toner for my HP (not genuine HP, but I'm not too concerned for coupon printing) is only something like $28.
Keep watching at Walmart, Best Buy and Future Shop for deals on printers :)
If this is for serious small format photography and income stick with Epson (I suggest Stylus R2880) The quality is amazing compared to HP printers in this price bracket (500$-800$). HP has great general office printers/all in ones and (large format plotters, this is where they surpass the others)
Large format opens up a whole new world for photography. Look for deals on Kijiji for designjets (z2100 and up) The ability to print on all kinds of media, canvas, adhesive, window/wall films at 24" or 42" is such a great option!! Sheet media will be more expensive so if you can invest in a roll feed you will save big down the road.
Good luck!
I cant get my head around how people justify the cost of printing photos at home, it uses so much in, and pictures at WM are only $0.19 and there are offers for free print all over the internet, i always get a couple hundred prints when WM has their offer on.
I just got a HP wireless printer about 2 months ago and surprisingly have not had to changed the ink yet. I use a laptop exclusively at home and having a wireless printer is AMAZING!
Dkcoupns, I am Super curious... did you decide on a printer? I am the exact same boat and would love to know what you have decided on... OR which make/models made your short list?
I am looking for a wireless multifunction printer. The "print from email and iphone" feature I really like. A printer that is photo quality is quite important. Ink costs are a consideration albeit I don't know how to weigh in on page yields.
I was using the same HP for 7 long years. I'm damned of I buy HP again... I'll be sure to get a lemon :-) so I'm looking at Cannon... :-)

Probably for convenience. I would suspect for scrapbooking and anything on the go. Personally, I only have a b&w laser printer... would love to have color but it's too expensive. And I'm happy with what we have, it's a Brother all-in-one!
