We don't do a New Year's concert thing at City Hall. City Hall is not downtown so it is pretty dead around there. They've tried doing various things outside for a New Year's Eve celebration but nothing's ever really worked out. Either it rains or the drunks ruin it for everybody. They tried doing "First Night" parties some years ago but I don't think that's till going. Best bet is to find a good indoor party... I'll keep my eyes and ears open re: what's up for a fun Nova Godina in Lotusland...

Nova Godina (I'm told by a Croatian fellow worker many years ago) means Happy New Year in Croatian.

This little pic is of my ATOMIC CLOCK! Note that it was taken on Thursday July 30th, this year. Note also... the friggin temperature inside was 36.8 Celsius! I thought I was going to die... practically no one has air conditioning here because we so rarely need it. Maybe in the spring we'll get a portable air conditioner...

well... this is what we've come to tonight... I'm posting pictures of my atomic clock and a friend's puddytat... this is Tika, she's from Costa Rica... somehow my friend managed to bring her back on the plane in his carry on...

This is a pic of opening day this past summer for the "Golden Ears Bridge". The name comes from the mountains nearby. The next day one of the local papers had a full front page pic of the crowd surging over the bridge and guess who was right front and centre? Moi. I was at a Mcdonald's the next morning getting my usual Mcmuffin and I picked up the paper that was on the counter and I was looking at myself! I showed the lady at the counter and she laughed.

Another one of Tika (which is the word in Cost Rica for a local type person).. she's really long legged and noticeably different from the other cats in the neighbourhood.
