if you crack one open, there will be a nut meat inside just like a regular water chestnut except shaped like that

a long time ago I was showing a visiting friend around Chinatown and he bought these to take back to an artist friend of his that would make jewelry out of them, like earrings and necklaces etc.

the flowers in a vase sculpture was made by an artist named Patrick Hughes, it was a gift from some artist friends... actually quite valuable, was worth $750 19 years ago...

well here is something i drew based on my meaning of the song..a black bird..quite literally

there's one thing you might like to see here...
it's all the blackbirds that come in from the sea at dusk so they can roost for the night...
every night, just as it's getting dark, you may see hundreds and thousands of them ...flying towards wherever they sleep inland...
waves and waves of them will fly over and you can get vertigo if you turn your head way up to look at them all passing overhead..
