Thread: Tell us Your Cashier Stories

So, everyone has had a cashier that has been unfair with coupons, everyone has had a cashier that is nice to you and takes your coupons.
This is a place to share your stories of an experince you have had with a cashier using coupons, whether they are great, bad, or beyond terrible.
Also a place to share tips when picking cashiers, and how to handle the stress of the cashier not understand what you are trying to say.
Most of you have heard my storie already of my lastest WalMart experince when the cashier thought she was funny by telling the customer behind me that I was ed for buying such an amount of thoothbrushes.
I would also like to say, incase a cashier comes by this that never ask(if you intend to take it in a bad way) or judge someone for how many items they buy, no matter what. You never know what that person goes through, there are many, many reasons why someone could be buying a big number of one item.
-Maybe they don't have money for extra items like that so they are just simply stocking up, nothing wrong with that
-Maybe they are donating to homeless shelters, or foodbanks
-Maybe they are shopping for more than their family
There are so many more reasons that I could state, but we don't need to prove our selves to you cashiers, if you are nice about it and are wondering what or why we are going to do with this stuff, I will answer, but the question better be asked in a nice way, because we are the ones that pay you at the end of the day, that's right, even if we use coupons !This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

I've had a few different experiences at the same Walmart.
Normally not an issue with coupons.
One cashier was really rude when I was buying a lot of cleaning supplies with b1g1 coupons and money off coupons. She was practically throwing the stuff into the bags as she packed my items and totally shocked me by asking "are you really going to use this stuff or are you just buying it because you have coupons?". I was so surprised I just answered 'of course I'm going to use them'. I have a cattery so I use lots of cleaning supplies but I was so shocked by her rudeness that I was totally not prepared for that. What business is it of hers if I use the supplies or not? Do people not buy lots of supplies for businesses etc? wow
Another gal was SUPER. Did all my free items up separately so I didn't pay any tax.
Then I found the post here about Walmarts own policy that tax not be paid on coupon items. Yesterday I did another run for some supplies. I got a manager at the till. I asked him before he started if he would be taking the tax off with the coupons. He said yes. He rang it in. I asked for confirmation that the tax came off. It didn't. He was all flustered and called the office. They said tax had to be paid. I politely informed them that Walmarts policy is that no tax is paid. The girl in the office said take the tax off. So the cashier, a manager, is totally confused. He calls back up and asks the office person to come and help him. She helped him with two coupons and left. He didn't know how to do the rest so I helped him. LOL We finally got it sorted out after he overcharged for numerous items which got entered multiple times. Oh man. BUT next time I'll suggest what the other cashier did. She set all free items aside and entered them all separately. This way everything came out Zero, no calculating tax or anything silly like that. Very simple system that she had and it worked well, very quick, no hassle.
Never a problem at No Frills thus far.
