So I was getting kind of confused with all the threads that had RCSS/Loblaws coupon policies. So I emailed them and asked for an official copy. The one they sent me was the one posted here.

So I asked about the potential conflict between the store policy and what was printed on the coupon (sections 2.1 and 2.13 respectively)

    What I sent:

    Hi Anna,

Thanks so much for getting back to me.

I do have one question about the policy: Sections 2.1 and2.13 seem to conflict a bit:
2.1 The item being purchased must conform to the product details onthe coupon including size, brand, quantity, co-purchased item etc.

2.13 One coupon only per item purchased may be redeemed during eachstore visit, even if a limit statement is not included on the coupon. Couponstacking is not allowed.

So, I'm not a lawyer, but it seems that Loblaws' policy could violate the terms of the coupon in some cases? Could you clarify?

    Thanks,

    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,

It would ultimately be up to the Store Manager or Front end Manager, most coupons are quite clear and have all the details directly on them. The decision would have to be made at the time of purchase. I cannot advise you hypothetically.
Please let me know if there is a specific concern.

Stay tuned! I have asked them a rather pointed question on this. Sounds to me like they're letting stores make up policy as they go.

Edited to add: I asked them what would take precedence in the case of a conflict between the coupon language and the store policy. Apparently the store policy takes precedence:

    Hi Nicole,

Very clear question, thank you the store policy would take precedent.
No stacking is part of our policy.

I just called this morning, to the Loblaw number that i found to the LOBLAW limited.
the CSR said that the coupon policy has been updated, and that there is NO STACKING WHATSOEVER, one coupon per item per purchase.
So when I asked nicely for a copy of the coupon policy, she refused to give out as she said that it is constantly changing, I was SO speechless...
I work at the RCSS as a cashier in Vancouver Grandview Hwy, and I was never told about any coupon policy, I've always taken coupons as long as they match and didn't say theres any limitation specified on the coupon "limit one per customer" ; "limit one per purchase" etc etc etc.

    ANY CLARIFICATION!?
