Thanks, OP. Very good point.
Actually, English is my third language and second foreign language, and I find OP's point very useful and not disrespectful at all.
Being a teacher I can say that that's even good for non-English speakers, they'll improve their language skills. And the thing is not in a Greek origin word Multibionta (though this word is also can be spelt incorrectly, it depends on the mother tongue of the poster), but also in other words as well.

I don't find this thread disrespectful at all. Aren't the majority of Brand names the same in any language? Crest is still Crest in another language and Olay is still Olay in another language. They are product names just like the first names of people they aren't translated into another language.

Well, actually, not all the languages have the same pronunciation for brand names. E.G., IKEA is pronounced with [ai] whereas in Russian the "I" [ai] in IKEA is pronounced as [i]. So if somebody is Russian he (she) can even write "Iekea" or "Ekea".
But still I do think that people have to verify the correct spelling of the word. Though sometimes there are just misprints but in this case they can just edit the subject of their post.Last edited by Mia; Fri, Jun 24th, 2011 at 11:37 PM.

I thought of an example to make my previous post make more sense, there are people that spell hamburger incorrectly in their everyday spelling, therefore when talking about Hamburger Helper, it too is wrong and they would never think to look it up because it is a regular word for them

I don't think we need to be correcting each other's spelling at all. I think the OP's point was that we should (to the best of our ability) double check our own spelling when writing product names in the titles of our threads. Mistakes will still happen and we'll all be OK if they do. It's just a reminder that if we all do our best, the search feature will run a lot more smoothly.
