Insert Coupons

Total newbie here trying to learn all the lingo, what exactly is an insert coupon?

An insert is a coupon that comes in small flyer (all ads with coupons) and is usually put into a subscription newspaper monthly with the other flyers. Depending on where you live, you can find SmartSource, Red Plum or P&G Brandsaver inserts - typically about 10 or so coupons per insert on various products. I think in general the bigger centres tend to get them more often, in my small town in Southern Alberta we only get SmartSource, and even then only sometimes.
