**Another suggestion: like posting finds elsewhere in SC, it really helps the mods if you put as much info as you can in your titles:
eg
end dates/expiry dates
the store(s)/company

they won't have to go searching all overfor it, more work for our hardworking mods

When I click that icon ("Report Post") it brings me to a page with a note that says this is to be used ONLY for abuse, harassment, spam, etc. I thought there used to be a "Mark as expired" button, but can't seem to find it anymore...

This section has never had a Mark as Expired button, which is too bad.

I used to just change the title to "please delete" and I happened to send Amberlab a PM and she said not to do that, just send a note via the Report Post button.

She might be a little busy right now, I did it for a couple of my old ones and they're still here.
But those were her directions and it was just a few months ago

yup just use the report button whenever you want to contact a mod about a post ( rude posts, spam, to expire the thread etc) and one of the mods will expire it for you

Please never never edit a post to delete, just report the post and write please expire. Boo once removed any feature to edit posts because of the "please delete" edits. People cant search out topics if we change the titles

Also, if you are posting a deal or contest that has an end date, it is very helpful if you put that expiry date in the title. It's a lot faster to expire old threads if mods don't have to open each one
