    Hi ALL.

My wedding anniversary is coming up this weekend, and we are new to halifax. Where is the best place to get live lobster at a reasonable price?

    Thanks All

    !!

Buy from a street side fisherman, if possible. Otherwise, try Fisherman's Market on te Bedford Highway. I'm originally from Lunenburg County and usually get lobster for $4/lb ... although hard to come by this time of year. Do not pay more than $6/lb ever!

There are a few fresh fish marts at Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage. Not sure on the prices but they are right on the wharf by the boats so I would hope it would be a good price.

There's often lobster sellers out in Bayers Lake, look for them in front of Kent. Clearwater Seafood on the Bedford Highway is always good, and I bought them at Sobeys last time maybe a month ago, they were very fresh. You can tell if your lobster flips his tail vigorously at you.

    Happy Anniversary!

IMO, if it's not something you buy every week and you're not buying 20 pounds, how much difference does it really make if you pay $8 or $5 a pound? For two people, you're talking three or four pounds maybe.

If we're treating ourselves to lobster, sure we want to get the best deal we can, but we don't just skip it for the sake of $10 or less. It's a treat!
