Newbie Question...:) Important!

On the back of a coupon or in the front it says "limit on e coupon per purchase". I know that it means one coupon per item, but how do you explain that to the cashier in the nicest way, I really do not want to start an argument. What's the fastest and easiest way? Thank you!

for me I do it the 'Vana White" way.. i sway my arms over everything and say.. 'this is my transaction'.. then pick up one item and say ''this is my purchase''. usually i never have any issues.. so its very rare i do it.. and usually in a joking way. makes them laugh too. and they get it.
