I am asking what kind of binder should I get and what kind of sleeves for the coupons go in said binder?

I have untill now had them in envelopes, needless to say well over 400 coupons now is hard to look through to get the ones I need

So how do you do it? What is the best way to stay organized for easy use?

thanks for any help afforded to my endevour

I recommend one that zips up so of course you aren't having to worry about any falling out. I use baseball card inserts for my coupons. I sort into groups. Food at the back. At the front, it goes children's stuff, dog stuff, husband's, mine, ours (such as meds) and then household stuff. Also, get one of those folders that have the 3 hole punch, so you can add it into your binder for coupons that are too large for the baseball card inserts and to hold store coupon policies.
I sit down everyday the flyers come and make my list, taking out all the coupons I need out of my binder and putting them in this plastic envelope I have, so they are ready to go when I get to the stores. I have 3 of them, so I just put each store in one. I live in a small town, not many stores to coupon at, lol.

*If anyone has children and they buy underwear for them from 77kids, that plastic envelope thingy they come in are perfect for putting your coupons in for that week along with your shopping list. They zip up so nothing falls out and since they are see through, you can read your list while it's inside, so no fear of losing it

Yes, just like the OP said I use a zip up five star binder and baseball card inserts. Mine has a great side pocket that zips up and I keep all my flyers for price matching. I also use sheet protects for the large coupons and my coupon policies.

If youre just starting, get a basic binder and some plastic project protectors from the dollarstore. I put a sheet of paper in each of them and just label them, food, baby, grocery, etc with smaller labels in between them, milk products, diapers, laundry soap etc

I have a suitcase type binder.

It zips up, has an outside poket for when I coupon shop. On one side of the binder, there's a 7 section accordion folder that I use to organize flyers, inserts, trades, random things I don't have the time to sort. It also came with a calculator, card holders which I use for points cards, and keep one slot avaiable to hold coupons while I'm shopping. For organizing my pages, I have full page holders, baseball card holders from the dollar store and 4x6 photo holders. I've also been looking into getting currency holder pages that are used for bills, there are too many akward shaped coupons!

Some pictures for inspiration can be found here..

I got a zip up binder, clear page covers, and business card holders for a binder all at Walmart for a reasonable price. As well I got baseball card holders for the binder, paper clips, and little paper clamps at the dollar store (the clamps hook onto the binder ring and hold the coupons for that trip, and the paper clips hold each stores coupons together).

Being organized has been helpful for clearance sales, mark downs, and other surprise deals that I might have coupons for. It also stops those "where the heck did I put that coupon" moments (well mostly).

This is my trial and error of coupon organization systems. Now I use 2 zip up binders with photo pages.

I'm no longer couponing and my dogs have passed away. I can't figure out how to delete my profile. Sorry for the inconvenience.

omg so funny i misread your post and thought you meant you USE A SUIT-CASE for your coupon BINDER....LOL not a bad idea really if there were large enough plastic card holders, it might be easier than carrying around my 2 binders ....lol

Zip up Binders, Baseball card holders, extra zippered folder for larger coupons AND the 4x6 photo inserts... they hold the tear pad coupons wonderfully without needing to fold them in half or 3rds... you can still see what all you have and their easy to get out as well.

Most people have 2 binders - 1 for food and 1 for everything else... using a combo of card slots and photo slots works best for me in each category that I have in each of my binders...

As well.. I DONT cut up my printed internet coupons unless their printed more then 1 to a page so I have the Page protectors at the start of my binders with my internet coupons in those... keeps them flat, seen and the stores like it when they can see where the coupons come from and that means less hassle with them.

Hope this helps you some more!

try using a makeup cosmetics bag. something with a top zipper, so you can still look at your tabs, and is roomy enough to accommodate your 400 coupons, plus room for more coupons, and space for you to sift through. plus, it sits well in a shopping cart, where its not awkward.

I use a plain ole binder with a combination of baseball card holders, 4x6 photo holders & buisness card holders.

I'm finding the idea of a zippered binder is the best idea & will be purchasing one when the back to school sales start.

I've also gone thru a cpl binders now, so I'm thinking a really big ring is important too.

I have mine divided with dividers of cleaning, personal, cereal, frozen, can, misc & lunch snacks but I have so many I need to break it down further... I'm thinking the cleaners need to be broken down more (ie laundry soap, dish deteregnts etc) and the misc needs to be broken down more too... time to get the kitty litter cpns away from the cheese slice cpns!!

I also find having a calculator on hand is valuable for those unadvertised deals you come across, esp at Wal Mart
