These rentals up at the lake have kids, around 10-12 along with these delinquent kids here (no clue, but they're ALWAYS alone.. I saw their dad maybe twice this year) that are like 13-15 and i'm about to pull my hair out.
They were playing ball with a baseball & glove ON OUR LAWN, and we asked them to move nicely.
The ball hit our deck many times, I asked them to move again nicely.
The ball HIT SPARKY HARD, while he was eating a bone on our deck. Sparky made a wimp but of course, he has food so nothing's going to get his attention. We gave him the bone so he'd stop growling at the kids.
When He was a pup someone threw a basketball at his head, and since then he's TERRIFIED of balls. Like, bad !
So.. it hit Sparky and I got up and the kids laughed.. I'm not sure what at but I was FUMING. I yelled at them and told them to move away from our property.
So they're now sitting in front of our grass being LOUD.

Breath in ... Breath out ... woosa
I'd say go talk to their parents and tell them what they did to your doggy
A ball hitting a dog is even worst a ball hitting a person

Have you tried blasting some really annoying music? I know it might annoy you as well, but generally young guys can't stand it!

Their parents (the rental) are already upset at them for something else, so i`ll just leave it be. We'll talk to the owner of the camp ground tomorrow

talk to the parents if they refuse to do anything call the cops next time they are on your lawn. and make sure you report that they were throwing a ball at your house and at your dog... if you have a video camera (or a cell phone with video or pics) make sure you record the kids on your lawn and that they are refusing to leave when you tell them to.

CanadianBella
try living beside them every day of the year.
We do.
You mention not seeing the Dad. We see the kids-- the parents, not so much.
Had to treaten to call the police when they hit our stuff.
They are away this week.
The whole street looks nicer. The air is sweeter. The flowers are lovelier.
Heaven!

We can't call the cops up here, things have to be mediated by the owner. If that makes sense. I think they had a lot of problem before with people calling cops for little things, or so I heard. Same with Ambulance. But i'll definitly tape it, Thank you, I'll show it to the owner.

The rental people (who I think are leaving tomorrow) have a pack of bully-breed dogs that are NOT well behaved.
They came like 5 ft from our deck and let the dogs pee on our lawn, then 2 of the dogs tried to get at Sparky, who lunged at them and they ran away with their tail between their legs.
Then they decided to play ball on our lawn again, and when it rolled towards us he's like 'oops' with a smug look. He knows darn well it bugs us!Previously CanadianBella... I'm baaack!

well you can either take Chantel's advice.. or just turn around go back in the cottage. i know not what you want to do. but sounds like they are bored and looking for something to do.. if you ignore them they might go away.. OR you can be the totally cool parent/cottager and go out and say.. 'heh who wants to play a game of ball'.. we've had to take this course of action where we live as well. the kids look at you like you have two heads. but then they realize hmm. maybe they are being genuine.. summer is the worse for teens. theirs nothing to do.. is there a center they can have a dance/bingo in.. watch movies. etc. anything to keep them from getting bored.. they can't get in trouble if they are too busy having fun. ykwim.

I cant say I would be as patient as you, if a baseball hit my dog I would lose it then again she is just a toy pom would probably knock her right out. I say turn a hose on them or if a hose isn't handy get yourself one of those soaker water guns and fill it with some foul smelling liquid.. fish water perhaps?
