Today for like the 10th or 11th time for the last 16 years we've been living in the house, we were approached by realtors or regular people asking if we were selling our house
Like, we don't have a for sale sign out on the front lawn or advertise anywhere that we are selling our house.
Houses around my area are "hot" and only spend 2 - 3 days on the market before it gets sold.
So today a realtor came and asked if we were interested in selling our house and my mom responded "where did you find the advertisement of our house for sale?" and he responded "well I am just asking if you were interested" ... my mom responded "$2 million or more then I'll sell" and the guy said "thank you for your time" and leaves.
Like I mean really?? going around and asking if people are selling their houses geez
has this ever happened to anyone? This thread is currently associated with: N/A

um, no...but I've approached people, lol. When you want to buy in a hot neighbourhood in a hot market sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! I've heard of it working before so why not?

This happens to us all the time - we are renting half a duplex. It's because of the prime area and how hot our city has gotten. We get approached personally, and realtors leave stuff in the mailbox all the time.
I don't pass them along to the landlord because we don't want him to sell - we're very lucky to be renting in the area where we are - we couldn't afford to buy here!

M-hm....happened to us many times on the cul-de-sac our DD and her family now live in...realtors 'fishing' for properties...it's their job, and who knows if someone is tinkering with the idea of selling and maybe just needs a nudge...

I used to get 2 or 3 calls a week until the do not call list, now we just get business cards in the mail all the time.
