Got all the stuff in picture at WalMart for $16.20.

Went for a recycle walk last night and found:
    1 free towel PIN (worked)
Loads of refundable drink containers (a few dollars worth)
Big stack of magazine, all from within the last year, look like they haven't even been read (Shape, Rachel Ray, Food Network Magazine, Redbook, Women's Health, Fitness, Self, Health, Canadian Living)

Went to the bottle depot today. Got $10.60 for the bottles and found a bottle cap jackpot (52 iCoke, 1 Coke Rewards, 6 Canada Dry contest PINs)

a bottle depot is where you return the pop, juice, milk, and water containers to get your deposit back, in AB everything under 1 L is .10 and 1L+ is .25....it can add up a lot...

we give our kids the bottle depot money for some cash...
Am looking for coupons for Pepsi or Coke products, Sun-Rype fruit leather or snacks, fruit, meat, veggies, chocolate, toothpaste, 2 in 1 shampoo, cereal ( Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruit Loops) milk, restaurant,

In BC all beverage containers have a deposit system (water, pop, juice cartons, tetra packs, juice pouches, alcohol, etc.). Everything except milk is included. So you pay a deposit when you buy the drinks and then you can return them to a depot and get it back. A lot of people don't bother going to the depot and just put everything in their blue box. We collect them sometimes on recycling night.

The deposits are $0.05 for containers <1 litre and $0.20 for containers 1 litre of larger. Alcohol containers have slightly larger deposits but I can't remeber offhand.

At the depot all the stray bottle caps are collected in buckets on the counters so I just put on a glove and go through and pick out all the pin caps!

As well as bottle deposit Alberta also has recycle fees on beverage containers in Alberta too.
