Not baked but fried, French beignet. The kind you get at Café du Monde in New Orleans market.
Wanted to make some after seeing the movie "Chef".
My family is wanting me to make peach cobbler, so I will have to do that on the weekend.
chocolate chip cookies from the Chipits bag and peanut butter cookies (recipe has been in the family for approximately 50 years).

(test recipe for Christmas baking)
Making some cinnamon rolls and tea biscuits. I decided to make some cheese tea biscuits as well. :)
Red velvet cupcake. :) I love it!
Made shortbread cookies yesterday.
I just finished baking 2 dozen orange cranberry muffins and 2 dozen banana oatmeal chocolate chip and cranberry cookies. LO likes them and we love knowing that he is eating something healthy. I haven't done any Christmas baking yet. I'm a substitute teacher, so tomorrow is my last day of work for 2014.
Last night, magic cookie bars - made for the first time with dark chocolate, and they are FAB!
This morning, I baked cheesecake squares and made confetti squares - put those in mini baking cups instead of cutting from a pan, which is always tough with the marshmallows.
What are magic cookie bars?
Sunday night I made a lemon loaf, something I make fairly regularly which we all love.
Zonny, those are the layered bars made with condensed milk. I only make it at Christmas, because they are pricey to make. I find them too sweet, but the men love them.
I'll post the recipe tomorrow (it's a bit different than the ones online) - I just came here for some R&R and the kitchen is SO very far away with the recipe book, lol!
For the first time I made whipped shortbread, and I knew something didn't seem right, but I kept going. I've eaten them tons made by different people, just never made them.
Well, they spread like the dickens, and turned out flat. But they taste yummy.
Checked other recipes and they are similar, so I'll try figure out tomorrow what went wrong.
Also made cuban lunch chocolates, son would kill me if I didn't!
I'll see if I make something else in the morning or not - I have to make cabbage rolls then, so it depends upon my energy/arms/legs!
Magic Cookie Bars
1/2 c butter
1 1/2 c graham crumbs
1 c chocolate chips
1 1/4 c flaked coconut
1 c chopped nuts (I use walnuts)
1 can condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, 325 for glass
In 9x13 pan, melt butter in oven, mix in crumbs and press into pan.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips, coconut, and nuts.
Pour condensed milk over (- I do it by spoonsful, trailing ribbons across trying to cover as much as possible)
Bake 25 to 30 minutes until light brown.
Let cool completely before cutting. (It's actually best to cut the next day)
Thanks for the recipe!
I have a brown sugar cookie recipe that I make a fair bit. When I first got the recipe I found that the cookies spread out flat. Now I shape them into balls, then chill the dough. They come out MUCH better that way, they stay nice and thick. :) I whipped some up earlier, they're in the fridge now, will bake them with DS later for Santa.
Merry Christmas to all!
