@SnowFlakey I've made my own biscotti about 5 times now. It is easy, but there is some work there that eats up time.
The twice baking thing accounts for most of it.
This one from Simply Recipes was Pumpkin Biscotti, but I substituted things on this making.

    Pumpkin Biscotti Servings 40 biscotti

    Ingredients

2 1/2 cups of flour (330 g), plus more for shaping the dough
    1 teaspoon of baking powder
    1 teaspoon of cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon of salt
    7/8 cup (175 g) of sugar (that's 1 cup minus 2 tablespoons)
    1 Tbsp molasses
    2 large eggs, room temperature
    1/2 cup (100 g) of pumpkin purée
    2 Tbsp melted butter
    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries (optional )
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

    Method: Preheat oven to 350°F.

    • Vigorously whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt into a bowl.
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the sugar, molasses, eggs, pumpkin purée, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture a third at a time, stirring after each addition. The dough should be rather wet and sticky.

If adding dried cranberries or toasted chopped nuts, stir them in now.
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
    • Sprinkle a clean surface with about 1/4 cup of flour. Scoop the dough onto the floured surface.
    • Flour your hands and lightly knead the dough a few times.
    • Divide the dough in half. Form the dough into 2 long logs, each about 10-11 inches long.
Transfer the logs onto the lined baking sheet and use your fingers to flatten them into long rectangles.
The loaves should be relatively flat, about 10 to 11 inches long, about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches wide, and about 1/2-inch high.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, until lightly browned all over and the center is firm to the touch.

Let biscotti cool for 10 minutes and then use a serrated knife cut into 1/2 inch to 3/4-inch wide pieces.

Lay the cookies cut side down on baking sheets. Bake for 15-20 minutes more, turning the cookies over halfway through the cooking.

Cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Thanks for the recipe. My daughter recently gave me a bag of Lemon Almond Biscotti. It was about a 3 lb bag of ends and broken pieces but it was good anyway.

In Quebec, we have this magazine called 5/15, five ingredients/15 minutes. I was looking through the magazines for some ideas for all the frozen fruit i have and found a nice recipe for Tarte Aux Bluets (blueberry pie). It calls for 6 cups blueberries, well i dont have 6 cups of blueberries, but ive got 3 cups of blueberries and 3 cups of raspberries. So im going to improvise and make a Tarte Aux Bluets et Framboises (blueberry and raspberry pie). Hope it turns out good. If i remember, i'll post a pic here.

hello bakers, any advice on a turntable? Preferably inexpensive one but does the job. I read some mixed reviews on the Wilton trim n' turn plus cake turnable and that it's wobbly. Maybe I should go with a lazy susan? I don't know. Any advice is appreciated. TIA.

IMO, it depends how often you'd realistically use it. Personally, it's 0 to *maybe* two times a year, and since I have a small lazy Susan I can use, even a cheap turntable would seem to offer very little value for money, and I'd also have to find space to store it.

Purdee, have you tried looking at www.wish.com. They have nice cake turntables for about $9 and shipping for about $4. Check it out.

I made eggless milk buns; tested a recipe and it worked perfectly. My goal is to share the recipe with my inlaws and to make some for my FIL who's highly allergic to egg.Name: 20210316_091442.jpg

ha ha ha Yes @SnowFlakey you are not the only person who has been tricked by a name.
When my DH was a kid he thought grapefruit juice was grape juice, as he got a bit older he did not understand why people would eat cheesecake as most of the cheeses he'd known about were kind of smelly.
Same with Yorkshire Pudding. The very first time he heard the word, he thought about chocolate pudding cups or something.
@Purdee your egg-less milk buns look like they came from professional bakery! Mmmmm

@walkonby I have never had Yorkshire Puddings; are they easy to make? What do you eat with them?
