Yesterday we had a simple supper. Roast ham, toast or toasted bagel, canned pineapple, fresh veg.

Tonight I made a double batch of waffles with some mini chocolate chips in them. We had it with roast ham, fresh blueberries, fresh grapes, and milk. The extra waffles are bring frozen for my kids to pack for school lunches.

@harbie !! Fruit crisps are something of a comfort dessert for us. DH makes these and is a bit of a showoff when he does make one.
His hands are his guesstimate measuring tool tossing fruit with sugar and oatmeal. Congrats on success with your first attempt.
We always have French Vanilla Ice cream on ours when it comes out warm from the oven.

Lucky you to have a Dh that makes them, I have one who just eats them . I just had a tiny-ish sample and it’s soooooooo good. I’m like you and want vanilla ice cream on top so I’ll grab some latter tonight.

ahhhh! @Lynn49 I did it! Thanks so much for this recipe. I was mistaken when I told you I had made this before....uh uh....THIS is amazing, it must have been some other inferior pie tomato thing that I had made.
Now.... I decided to add small bits of broccoli crowns on top of the layered tomatoes. Partly for the colour ( aesthetic ) but also because I had 2 heads of it that wasn't getting eaten.
Also I diced up fresh oregano leaves along with the basil....do you know both my guys are sleeping and I took these out of the oven, snapped a pic, then cut myself a slice while it was still warm.

DROOL! If anyone wants to try this recipe here it is......

I " could " have made my own pastry shells, nice and thick the way hers are, but I was too lazy and bought the frozen Tenderflake ones. The one I cut into is staying here, the other one is going down to my sis and BIL.

I made another peach blueberry crisp and turned the lemon blueberry muffins into a loaf for the family bbq. Both were a huge hit.

First thing i baked in a looooooooong while. This morning i made Fresh Fruit Muffins, using frozen blueberries (go figure, fresh fruit). They turned out great!

Side note: I now need a magnifying glass to read on the pc even if i do the zoom. Any ideas of what is out there for me to use.

The 3 types of mini tarts are baked and frozen. Pumpkin, mincemeat and apple. There are also 18 pecan tassies. I used up a sandwich size bag of apples from our tree that I had prepped and frozen into wedges and slices 2 years ago. This morning it will be all about prepping, stuffing ( some ) of the winter squashes. Our Thanksgiving dinner is not until Sunday.

We've all been there staring at the berries that begin to over-ripen rapidly the minute you buy them and bring them home.
Such was the case, I had 3 kinds...RaspB, StrawB and BlueB, plus the BB date on my tall tub of Greek yogurt had just passed.
To the rescue!!....an online recipe. I tossed all 3 types of the berries into the batter.
