Today Darren asked me to buy him a Kinect for the Xbox - Best Buy had it on for $99.99. When I added it to the cart online, the total came to $84 (including shipping). I guess they had another 15% off. This promotion is on until tomorrow so if anyone's interested...I think it's web only although you can pick it up in store and they might let you use debit then.

Then I went to Shoppers; I'm roadtripping to San Diego next week for BlogHer (shameless plug: you can read about it on my blog! It's the ultimate savings - really!) and I wanted some stuff to bring along. Specifically, I've injured my back so I wanted some of the Tylenol Body Pain night and they had it on sale minus the $5 coupon.

So I got there and picked up a few other things:

    Huggies $9.99-$1.50
    Pampers Easy Ups $9.99-$4.50
    Tylenol Body Pain night: $11.99-$5.00
    2x crest prohealth (travel size) $1.29 each - $0.75
    Cottonelle wipes $2.99-FPC
    Cascade action paks $3.99-$1.50
    Aspirin $6.99-$3

So here's the thing: I was going to use the $10 card I got the other week with their promotion; I guess it's $10 off $30 and my coupons brought my total down to $28.03 and the machine wouldn't take it. It was $32.10 after taxes but the taxes don't count. The supervisor worked really hard to try to force it, but she couldn't override. She was quite impressed with my couponing (although it was mainly because I had some coupons expiring in the next week when I won't be around).

So my toddler got two packs of smarties (her favourite): the first was $0.99 the second $0.80

    Total OOP before taxes: $19.82
After taxes: $24.10 (boo! HST! Boo!)
    Points: 470
Bonus points: 1000 (on what, I have no idea. the Pampers maybe)

I had $6.53 left on a gift card from the other week, so I debited $17.57.

And since all my huggies coupons are expiring the beginning of August, I left them in the diaper aisle for anyone who might want them.

Nice of you being a coupon fairy at SDM.
About the $10 card. Buying some gum would have put you over enough to use the $10 IMO.
Gum is good for the plane ride to San Diego, if your ears are a bother on planes, like mine.

It's a good thought, but we're roadtripping And I'm not a gum chewer (it makes my jaw hurt). So smarties it was. They're just the boxes and we dole them out a few at a time when she asks for some chocolate. Three or four usually satisfy her.
